GamerBolt: "We’re going back to the age where online features didn’t really exist and using split screen was prime."
Online gaming will always be inferior to split-screen gaming. You don't get that same interaction without the person physically being there with you.
With the exception of screen lookers! Screen Lookers!!
You screen-lookin, odd-job-usin' mutha fu... ;p
also that time games didnt have 300 dlc, season packs and other lame post game release moneygrabbing features following ...they were complete games with the whole content available and the extras hidden through skilled gameplay...i cant watch companies like Activision ,EA and ubisoft to release prelaunch season pass and dlc ..it is like stealing you in front of your face
To me, multiplayer is best with your friends or siblings there right beside you. I remember the hours upon hours me and my brothers spent playing Mario party or halo on campaign co op on the original Xbox. With online multiplayer, you don't get to celebrate or high five the person next to you when you do something awesome. And frankly the whole online thing is ruined anyway with a bunch of potty mouthed teens acting like they're adults and calling everything gay or something immature like that. Maybe I'm just getting old but I miss the gaming i grew up with so much. I still love it now but it's changed so much over the past 10 to 15 years.
"To me, multiplayer is best with your friends or siblings there right beside you. " THIS.
I miss the good old days of couch coop and local multiplayer too. I loved having multiple people over playing Goldeneye or Mario Kart. The old school Twisted Metal games, Timesplitters, Mario Party, Perfect Dark, and so many more. Even with system link on the PS1, playing command and conquer, oh man those were some great times! Even with all the advancements gaming has gotten, nothing has come close to any of that stuff I mentioned IMO
"Maybe I'm just getting old but I miss the gaming i grew up with so much. I still love it now but it's changed so much over the past 10 to 15 years." THIS is why retro is so popular!
I have played countless hours of goldeneye, fire pro six men scramble, no mercy, bomberman and halo 16 player lan while lugging CRT tvs everywhere......you have to be insane to say you would rather do that than online gaming
I would much rather lug a tv, system, and games to a buddy's house for a LAN party
I still have my, Genesis, 32x, Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Gear, PS1 and the first Xbox. All of them have games, Sega systems have the hard to find ones.
They were the days :)
Waitin on my groupon sega genesis, no signs of it tho. Think I've been gipped.
For me all online games just sucks

I understand why people still play classic games and why it's still very popular. I love classic games! The stories are timeless and the music are unique and memorable! Compared to todays ultra serious, musically orchestrated, Michael Bay action games, games back then had more unique experiences! I like serious action games as much as anybody, but like candy, too much will give you a stomach ache, and you'll be dying to try something different!
One thing Nintendo still gets. 8 player smash here we go.
Crash Team Racing all the way, man. Frantic, anything goes kart racing with a ton of unlockables, secrets and gaming myths (spending hours trying to unlock Oxide by beating his ghosts, anyone??) I still play this with my mates now on ps3. The one benefit would be wireless controllers and no damn multitap ;D
