Ubisoft just posted its financial results for the fiscal quarter ended on September 30th, with a “significant improvement” of operating income and cash flows according to CEO Yves Guillemot.
I don't know why they decided to release Far Cry 4 a week away from AC Unity. Those two are going to eat into eachother's sales. November is going to be a busy month.
Different genres that can cater to different tastes but I agree with the seemingly logical assumption that perhaps a publisher would want to space out their product in order to even out earnings throughout a fiscal year.
It makes since for 1st party publisher to release their games late in the year to push console sales. And it makes sense for MAJOR games like CoD and GTA to release before Christmas. But I abolutely don't understand why 3rd party AAA games like The Crew release during the holidays with all the competition.
People can buy one of them in December when there's not much coming out or for Christmas for someone. Doesn't make any sense to miss Black Friday when you will get your Christmas sales regardless
Different games for different demographic. I'll take Far Cry 4 before I get near an Assassin's game. Not because I hate the game but just because it's not my cup of tea.
Far Cry 4 day one for me, and not getting Unity. I did like the franchise, but after brotherhood it went south. Not my cup of tea anymore.
Gives people the time to buy the other game as a Christmas present or the person can just buy it in December as there aren't any major releases that month.
I'm going to be getting both but I know a lot of people out there cannot afford to buy both. It doesn't help that GTA Remastered, Smash Bros, and Dragon Age Origins are all coming out in the same month. They probably would've been better off delaying Far Cry 4 to December. My wallet is not going to forgive me for November.
earlier the better. If you want it in December then you can buy it then. Not sure why people don't like a game coming out earlier and being down in price most likely (even if just a little) by the time they get around to buying it. A man wanted Smash earlier because he knew it was going to sell on BF regardless. Not sure why Nintendo doesn't want to give it the 2 bump sales from release and then as soon as that tapers off BF hits.
@reesespuffs My wallet does as it's told. Addendum: Xbone and 360 outhustled by the ps4...AND the ps3? Wow...strong work Sony. Respect.
2015 may be a good year as well if The Division performs well (fingers crossed).
Rainbow Six too and doubt that's anywhere near all they'll have going for them next year. Those two games though are both big contenders. Rainbow Six coop has always been one of my favorites (old ghost recon too--ps2/Xbox days were a blast for Tom Clancy titles). Competitive was great too but coop was rock solid.
So PS4 outsold XB1, Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii, Vita, and 3DS COMBINED!
You fail at math.
I think he was referring to the 6-month numbers.
Ironic, given you failed to actually understand what he's saying. OT: That machine is just a little monster!
It outsold all current gen combined (XB1, WII U, PC), not everything
Well its MCC for me...
Playstation did 49%!
Im just happy that the consoles in general are dominating
A man isn't surprised considering it has double the install base at this point but maybe by next year they'll have stopped with the parity BS if this continues. The gap is only going to grow so MS will have to try harder and harder to keep parity. COD and most other games clearly aren't supporting their parity argument despite the exclusive advertising for it (most likely because COD is too big to be controlled).
Well, people aren't daft y'know, they'll go out their way to get the game hosted by stronger hardware. Cool stuff, I'm surprised the PS3 and X360 still do very well.
I just don't fell like 9 million units sold of a mediocre game is something worth celebrating for anyone but Ubisoft...
Evrey single game sold and it will sell better on PS4 because it's the dominate leader platform
q2 2013/2014 WiiU 7% ; getting almost abandoned by Ubisoft q2 2014/2015 XBOne 9% ; guess Ubisoft has to almost abandon now
