The PC port of Final Fantasy 13 makes a convert out of GeekParty's Tim Evans.
I know it's personal preference but I feel ff 13 wasnt even warranted the first play. They took so many step backs with the game mechanics, story and detail like towns and side quests.
Biggest dissapointment last gen in my opinion I'm only saying this because of how far Square have fallen over the years and the fact FF13 was a dissapointment for many despite the raging hype but I think the same could happen to Final Fantasy 15 It won't be as bad as FF13 but with the things that arrogant new director who has no experience of making a AAA console game never mind a FF one I don't think it's going to be good. Compare Nomuras version of FF15 (Versus) with the new footage...such a downgrade combat wise.
X360 was biggest disappointment last gen.
I've been trying to force myself through it on the PS3 (going on 3 years now), if only because I heard the sequels addressed a lot of the issues. It's really a slog, I dunno if I'll ever get there. Only just made it to Pulse.
I found 13-2 is the game ff 13 should have been but it still feels a bit undercooked and lightening returns I think is a disservice to fans the graphics are the worst of the 3 and it feels like it was thrown together to get some qu ink money from the Japanese market. I hope 15 will be better and address some issues though I am remaining hesitant right now as all we have seen in battle game play not really seen too much else like menu system and towns and in game interactions.
was going to say the same thing, the first place wasnt worth it why would a second be? did they drastically change the PC version so it wasnt a corridor shooter instead of an rpg?
If I remember correctly, I put 25-30 hours into the game before I quit. Never even got to the open world.
The story was decent, but the actual game world (level design) and play mechanics were abysamal. The only lasting merit of FFXIII is that it serves as one of the best examples of media selling well solely due to its pedigree. Final Fantasy XIII, by any other name, would not smell nearly so sweet.
I'm playing it for the first time now and having a great time with it. I'm about 20 hours in and I'm starting to understand peoples concerns about the game. Still I think it's really good so far even though it might not be as good as past games of the series.
Someone's a sadist...
It's 720p only. It's not worth playing at all.
GeDoSaTo that's all.
I'm aware of the mod. The fact, that it must be done is insanely stupid.
Game wasnt even worth buying . . .so i borrowed it from a family member and beat it :)
Even if 1440p it still have a the most boring story ever
If its worthiness is all about eye candy, then I might consider it. However, every thing else about this game is so poorly executed that, bar graphics, makes it a tedious affair. For all PC gamers out there, just play FF7, 8, or 9. I also recommend the FFXII for the PS2 and FFX HD collection for the PS3. Skip this and save your money. Please! Edit: I just would like to point out that FFX, with game design very similar to FFXIII, is miles better than FFXIII will ever be. They both did away with the world map, but at least FFX made you feel that the locations are actually connected. Sigh FFXIII, just sigh.
10 was pretty open world still , it was 10 part 2 that was a bit more closed but even still they all crap on 13 in every way possible imo.
ffx was linear shit, soap opera about a dream boy lol, story was worse than ffxiii.imo
I loved it & playing it again but not on pc.
Rather than give FF 13 a second play, PC gamers should put their money on Valkyria Chronicles. For me, VC is far above FF 13 in terms of story, gameplay, music, content, and replay value. The graphic also beautifull, but i knew some people doesn't like anime style and it could be a turn off for them.
it isn't even worth a first play
I stopped playing Final Fantasy since Final Fantasy 8. Not gonna get this for the PC. But instead im gonna give Valkyria Chronicles a second play! That game was superb!
I think Squeenix failed majorly last gen, but mostly because they had trouble catching up to the HD generation. They used so much time to make graphics pretty, that they forgot about the rest of the package in the process. I got the first and 2nd game for a cheap deal, but i forced myself to complete the achievements when i played on the 360.
They failed on nearly all fronts with 13 but even with all its many faults it still manages to deliver some fun. In particular the battle system I find to be fast-paced and engaging.
