Why Are There So Few Horror MMOs?

Horror has become big business, especially zombies, as many horror-themed tv shows have become runaway hits. I'm talking about shows like The Walking Dead, Supernatural, Sleepy Hollow, Haven, True Blood, and so on. Yet there's one area of entertainment that is woefully under-represented when it comes to horror, monsters, and things that go bump in the night: mmo games. Why are there so few horror mmos?

Because having a ton of people with you damages the isolation of horror in general. Fear is heightened when you're all by yourself, alone and without protection. It's the reason that Resident Evil 5 was such a mess; co-op horror is really easy to do badly, especially if there are even more people with you.
