I still remember the first time I fired up the original Borderlands title and explored the desolate wastes of Pandora in glorious split-screen action with my wife. There’s something about the setting, the gameplay, and the action all come together to create something special; throwing in “couch co-op” in an industry that seems hellbent on pushing online-only is icing on the cake. I had some concerns about Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel prior to launch, though, and so it was with some reservations that I leapt into the latest installment.
