The panel takes an early look at what games may be vying for the coveted Game of the Year status in the Bonus Round

My personal favorites: South Park: Stick of Truth Wolf Among Us Wolfenstein: The New Order
Also if I can throw in a mobile game it is Hitman Go
^You disqualified yourself from having the critical eye by mentioning a phone and tablet game. The almighty mikeslemonade bought a refurb WiiU. I think Bayonetta 2 will end up being game of the year just because the current gen hardware games are not reaching expectations. ' But so far that's out and I played is Infamous Second Son and Super Time Force on the top of my list.
My favorite games of the year, so far: Dark Souls II Child of Light Shovel Knight Wolfenstein: TNO Transistor Waiting to play Smash U, Bayonetta 2, Captain Toad TT, Assassin's Creed Unity, Far Cry 4.
Everyone is forgetting about the games from the first half of the year, nice to see you have dark souls 2. Probably my goty, even though I was a bit disappointed by it.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is my only pick for GOTY so far.
Agreed, least hyped and best game so far. Really did the lore some service there.
This is always one of those impossible decisions for me. Rare in my experience is the game that trumps all others absolutely in a given year. Here's my pointless list for contenders thus far, though I simply can't pick a single one (also note that I have not played even a tenth of the games that have come out this year, and there are still several heavy hitters yet to be released): Risen 3 South Park: The Stick of Truth Watch Dogs Tales of Xillia 2 Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor If I went by most fun, I'd go with Risen 3. If I went by hours spent, I'd go with Tales of Xillia 2 (though I'm not sure that this game can even be considered because it technically came out in 2012 for the first time). But I just simply can't pick a true favorite. I haven't even actually completed The Pre-Sequel or Shadow of Mordor, but they're both really good so far. Watch Dogs was a lot of fun, too, with Chicago being fun to explore if only because it wasn't the typical New York or L.A. inspired open-world I've become accustomed to wandering around in. Then there is South Park, which is the single funniest experience I've ever had with a video game, and the gameplay was great, too, if you're a fan of turn-based RPGs, which I am. Anyway, I'm glad I'm not in a position where I have to pick a single favorite. I guess that websites and magazines have to come up with something for tradition's (and money's) sake, but nowadays, given the sheer magnitude of game releases in a given year, I think picking a single game for Game of the Year is an archaic practice and utterly pointless.
LOL sunset overdrive is a game from another universe where dreamcast was the number 1 console , great line .
pretty sure Bayonetta 2 already won it
