Adventure Xpress was very well executed visually, accompanied by some unique Gameplay concepts. The campaign is lengthy, but very linear, sometimes downright grindy. A lack of additional game modes is a big setback, and a couple of UI nuisances don’t help — although the Interface is still solid on the whole. Overall it’s a good game, especially considering it is free and doesn’t really require IAPs.
We know how it is. You worked hard for your 10:1 KDR, but sometimes, you just want to take five, relax, and enjoy a quick game on your phone. Unfortunately, finding good games is anything but quick – most mobile gems end up buried under a mountain of trash. But like we said, we know how it is, so every Monday we shine a spotlight on a great diversion to get you through the work week.
TouchArcade: Adult Swim has a done a great job with its iOS titles and now, with the help of developer PikPok, they are taking on the Match-3 genre. Adventure Xpress [Free] continues the excellent off-beat motif of most Adult Swim titles with you taking the role of a mail courier in a fantasy setting. Meanwhile the Match-3 gameplay is a bit simplified, but has everything needed to offer an enjoyable experience (even with the freemium elements).
Andrew Buffa of Modojo writes:
"Adventure Xpress is brought to you by Adult Swim Games, makers of Castle Doombad. The game has the same great animations, light heartedness and humor, but with a match-3 twist."
