The 5 Best Fake Gamers On TV

Vince from Awesome Games writes: 'We all know that fictional television shows about gamers generally suck, often resorting to outdated mainstream perceptions and terrible cliches. I could only ever get through a couple of episodes of The Guild or Video Game High School before the exaggerated characters and pseudo-parody became too much to stomach. But in recent years there’s been a new type of fake gamer appearing on some of the most popular and critically acclaimed shows on TV. In these fictional stories they might spend their work days cooking crystal meth or performing political assassinations of the highest order, but at night they unwind from their daily responsibilities in the same way as you or me – by playing video games. Please note their designation of “fake gamer” stands even though the actors might play video games in real life.'

Slightly off topic, but I love/hate the "fake gamers" on TV. Where if you look, sometimes they're even using different system controllers and no matter what explosions are going on in the game, when someone loses you hear Pac-Man dying. Usually in sitcoms to just show "game players"...yet they're just fiddling their hands while saying their lines. It's like the driving scenes where people are moving the wheel back and forth an inch or so while talking. Who really does that? And where is this 20 mile stretch of straight road in the city that they never have to slow down for?

I don't know if I'd say "love"/hate, but I do agree that it's funny as hell.

People playing games on Tele is hilarious, they just button mash the hell out of the controller, while leaning side to side with concentration faces.
