congrats Nintendo. Strong figures for a game that some people thought wouldn't work well on the 3DS.

Shame that some of those numbers will eat away at potential Wii U customers, but hopefully they can both do well.

I think they will help. 3DS owners (Smash fans of course) who don't have a Wii U will eventually move over to the console version. But as for the Wii U version it will be huge. HD + Gamecube controller support + Amiibo marketing = success.

I know I am getting the Wii U version day one. Still on the fence about picking up the 3DS version..

i dont think so. A majority of people just dont have cash lying around.

I am definitely getting the wiiU version as well. That and mario kart are two of the reasons why i have a wiiU.

I personally feel that having the game on 3DS was Nintendo's plan for short term gain instead of possibly helping the Wii U actually become a hit which would have been a long term gain to the state of their console.

By releasing it on 3DS (and releasing it months earlier), they possibly have lost some potential new Wii U owners who would have bought the system for Smash Bros.

Yes there are still a lot of people that will buy both versions but they had to have lost some potential new Wii U owners with this move.

I believe Nintendo themselves know that the Wii U will not have any chance at being as successful as even the N64.

And if you don't believe me ... take Nintendo's own forecasted sales expectations for this fiscal year.

Doesn't matter too much, money is still money no matter which system it's coming from because they are both nintendo

I actually think it will help. Did Destiny being on the PS3 and Xbox 360 hurt the PS4 and Xbox One sales numbers? Nobody knows, but we do know that Destiny on PS4 is the best selling version of the game, despite having 2nd lowest install base from all the platforms it was released on.

People are going to want the GameCube support, Amiibo functionality, Better graphics, better online play, more music, stages, and modes.

The Wii U version will sell as well, if not better than the 3DS version.
