Styx: Master of Shadows Review | Entertainment Buddha

EB's Ray Porreca writes, "Styx: Master of Shadows brings players back into the rich fantasy world of 2012’s Of Orcs and Men, serving as a distant prequel to the events of the first game. Taking control of the original goblin, Styx, players guide the thief on his harrowing journey through the Tower of Akenash in order to steal the Heart of the World Tree – a source of immense and immeasurable power that the goblin plans to sell for unfathomable riches.

At its core, Master of Shadows is a stealth game that dares to stand out against the relative lackluster recent offerings in the genre. Developer Cyanide Studios has clearly done their homework, as Master of Shadows does exceptionally well as an infiltration game. Solid mechanics, as well as the numerous interesting characters, often-funny writing and an immersive setting all come together in the game, providing for a title that is enjoyable and engaging throughout."

Of Orcs and Men was just OK, but I did enjoy the character of Styx. Good to hear he maintains his charm in this prequel.
