Hardcore Gamer: Why is the same company that owns games media giant Gamespot as well as the eSports news outlet onGamers and frequent supporter of eSports willing to host something so flagrantly ignorant?
FU. All I heard him saying was "blablablablabla". Ironically CBS owns GameSpot & Metacritic, lol.
What is CBS?
Corporate bull s***
Wow, somebody needs to tell CBS that it's not 1996 and people are OK with video games. Well, besides the NRA.
Again ValKilmer speaks the truth...
What an idiot. Well, Gamespot is one of these sites that attack gamers and pretend to be a SJW. Screw CBS and Lamespot.
Mock my hobby? Eat shit CBS!
Earth is full. Go home.
They were mocking people on Twitch for watching other people play games. And I agree, it wouldn't hurt for some to actually go outside.
What is this "outside" you speak of?
It's a really boring open world game. No dragons, giant robots, or heroic quests to embark on but I have to admit the graphics look very realistic! ;-)
Its the largest grind game I have ever played. ...Wake Up, Work, Eat, Work, Eat, School, Sleep, Repeat... Destiny has nothing on the grind of life.
The real world is the worst walking simulator ever. Got a job and a family. Still would do again for the nookie and the lulz. 10/10.
LOL @ Brish Bubbles up
They look realistic and everything, but they're still 900p.
There is already enough people outside trashing our cities and neighborhoods, for the love of god stay home. my car has been vandalized enough for a life time :/ frikken losers.
What an absolute Tw*t. The world's a mess and all this news journalist(😂)can talk about is gamers. According to his logic, watching people play games is stupid and boring. Well, the same logic applies to watching the news. At least playing games is fun and entertaining. Unlike the news and reality TV shows where you can Keep up with the Kardashians or get regular updates and specials on Teen mom.
So a moron that doesn't know anything about video games doesn't like watching video games. Shocker. I'd like to punch this douche in the stomach.
After watching the video, I must say he doesn't come off nearly as bad as I initially thought he would. While I might not agree with his opinion, he wasn't nearly as as ignorant as many other journalists have in the past. His tone, by the end, is somewhat condescending, but at least he, unlike many others, doesn't attack video games nor does he claim that they are bad and should be banned. He simply is an older person who doesn't fully understand why anyone would prefer to watch someone play a game rather than play the game, or go outside and do something more meaningful. I enjoy watching people on streams, but I can see where he is coming from.
Seems like he just can't relate to people playing video games because he's so bad at them. My question is how can he be bad at ALL video games? It's like he doesn't know video games have genres that cater people's interest. If I HAD to chose game genres for him to play, it would be puzzle games and maybe point & click adventures. If he can't play Super Mario Brothers, his hand eye coordination needs some training.
What a douchebag.
Gaming has become a staple. His philosophy could be applied to everyone who watches YouTube, Netflix, TV, football (or any sport for that matter) on a regular basis. The list could go on. I love it when individuals who haven't a clue or simply does not enjoy the medium, attempts to downplay and put down that which he or she does not understand. Lob a pigskin, lob a grenade, either one can bring happiness.
I don't see why anyone would be offended by this. It's just his opinion and it's up to you if you wish to agree or disagree No need for personal insults. I personally think he is being too biased for singling out video games as a time waster because enjoying video games is no different from enjoying other forms of entertainment such as sports, movies, tv shows, stage performances, music etc. My personal belief is that if you truly enjoy doing something, then it's not a waste of time unless there is something more urgent that you need to be doing.
I don't get the appeal of watching other people playing videogames either. I don't want to experience a game through someone else. I want to do it myself. Also I think that many of the people commenting here are overreacting over nothing.
Yet Hollywoodball, I mean Football... Hand-egg, isn't a waste of time? Hmm.
So watching, Football, Baseball, Soccer, Hockey, ect. somehow isn't a waste of time?
F yeah. This guy is my hero. Everything he says is completely true. Watch the World Series on TV or even at the stadium? I don't think so. I get out there every day and play baseball myself. I also enjoy football and ice hockey. I can't watch someone else have fun. I get out there and practice my backhand in tennis 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Reality TV? Why watch someone else live there life for a few hours a day. I record myself through my home security cameras and when I'm out, I record with my iPhone. Then every Friday a compile all my videos and edit them down and then I watch it. I even record myself watching myself. Bit then I get upset and realize I should be watching myself do shit. I should be out there really doing it. So, I get up, grab the news paper and the. Sit behind my desk. I stare at the wall as I try to recite the articles I've read. That's right, I don't watch the News. I make my my own news reports. I got a kid that's in football and wrestling. Sometimes I can't make it to the practices and so my fiancé will record him. But I guess I can't watch it cause I wasn't actually there. I ain't got time to sit around and watch someone else do shit. I got shit of my own to do. As a matter of fact, I don't ever sit down. I'm too busy enjoying life. I even shit standing up. F sleep too. I don't dream. I live the life people dream of. I don't even know how I found the time to write this or why I even did. Why am reading shit other people wrote. If you got something to say say it to my face. And whoever this faktard reporter is, he should step out from the behind the camera and come read his report to my faking face. No, you know what, I don't even have time to hear what other people have to say. I'm out there livin'. I don't need to squint I'm out there in the real 3D world enjoying life. P.S. CBS, the world broadcasts in four dimensions, assholes
+Funny "I even shit standing up." Okay that whole thing was funny, but that particular line had me busting a gut laughing. I agree. It's like this news guy doesn't know how much his ignorance is showing. He really needs to find out what he's talking about before he talks about it.
Fuck Luke Burbank. Dude came off as a prick right from the start of the video. I always have to explain to my friends or co-workers that watching Twitch is no different than watching a movie or a tv show because that's my form of entertainment. It might not appeal to them but dont mock or write off my way of spending my time as a "waste of time."
This guy's just mad that the younger generation is not believing the propaganda on the tv aka "we don't watch"
Haha! So true. :)
Lol life is a game. If it would be, this world wouldn't be full of scumbags, greed and cruelty.
What is boring is listening to this degenerate talking garbage. He thinks playing video games is a waste of time. Well that's his opinion but how dare he think that everyone who enjoys video games should just stop playing them because he doesn't like them. The great thing about video games is that they allow you to kill virtual representations of people like this idiot and not have to worry about consequences.
A guy in a suit tries hard to tell me that I'm childish to spend couple of hundreds of EURs on video-games? I have a successful job, probably the best family on earth, and I'm a child because I'm a gamer? Maybe it's not my problem to grow up, but the the author of this "video"? Cheers all, happy gaming!
He should get a life. Juvenile commenting.
World Series of Poker is perfectly fine I bet though ...
I think e-sports are lame. I don't watch traditional sports, either. I would rather participate. Btw just because a company owns gamespot doesn't mean every newscaster has to be pro-gaming. MSNBC isn't always pro-Microsoft. Think people attacking his editorial unnecessarily.
Hey guys...get over it.
From one perspective I can certainly see the point about real life. It shouldn't I believe take too much of a backseat to games which although immensely fun -at times-, can actually waste a lot of valuable life time. People play for habit when they maybe don't realise how much more fun they could be having doing something else in the real world Life is very short short so a good balance seems sensible especially if all you're doing is paying games every hour of every day out of habit
