Sweep the leg.
Ken and Justin continue their Killer Instinct rivalry.
Our Fondling video series lets editors play the games for your entertainment purposes. They come in many flavors, but all taste equally sweet.

One of the worse campaign in the entire Halo series imo. Halo 4 campaign was actually better.
I didn't say anything about the multiplayer. The campaign though 🤔😌😞
I didn't think the campaign was bad, it was story that felt rushed & the overused encounter with the Warden was annoying but other then that it was fine.
I was left wanting more in the campaign, but the multiplayer, however, is absolutely fantastic.
Aye, they sold the story as being an epic clash between The Chief and Locke. In the end we got a team of retards who couldn't tell their arse from their elbow, getting schooled by the most annoying boss I've gone up against in a long time.
@rookie
Please stop calling it the 'entire package' when only half the package is worthy.
You know I'm just not really into multiplayer games. I know I'm a minority but I just prefer a single player experiences myself. I enjoyed Halo and Halo 2 even with the iffy ending to part 2. Anyway I played Bio Shock before I played Halo 3 and I have to say that's where my love for Halo stopped. Even though Halo is an action heavy first person shooter, Bio Shock had a great story, plasmids and horror. It's really unfair to compare them but my taste in games has just changed and I have yet to enjoy a Halo game again..
Is it really that good? I can't wait to try it out when I get my gears console. All
I have heard is how good the multiplayer is, some close friends tell me it is the best Fps multiplayer they have played. That's a big statement.
Shadow
I'm not really interested in the campaign, I will play it definitely but multiplayer is where it is at and has always been for halo. Plus there's too much content so I doubt it can get stale, when I watch mp gameplay on YouTube it looks like an absolute blast.
The campaign is not that good. The multiplayer is great. Halo campaign is not the same as it used to be.
The campaign is worth a playthrough, especially for the achievements. It's not like it used to be though. Perhaps the concept has been played out, but it seems to have lost some of its appeal. Also, it's apparent that 343 is trying to move the story away from Master Chief.
Nintendo: Mario/Zelda
Xbox:Forza/Halo
Playstation: Kratos/Drake
.....some don't understand the article or something, all this talk about halo?!?
I think its not so much a game, but more or less a series or character. Just as its not so much a specific console as it is a brand.
Sony Playstation:
My vote has to go to Nathan Drake of the Uncharted Series, with the runner up being Kratos of the God of War Series.
Microsoft Xbox:
My vote has to go to Marcus Fenix of the Gears of War series, with the runner up being Master Chief of the Halo series.
Nintendo (all):
My vote has to go to Mario of any Mario game you can think of, with several runners up, but I will choose Link from the Legend of Zelda series.
You can break it down to be more specific to the what each brand represents, this list changes drastically, but if you identify a brand with a face, I think my list is sound.
Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Ratchet and Clank, The Nathan Drake Collection, Until Dawn,Knack, The Last of Us Remastered, Infamous Second Son, The Order 1886, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, Indigo Prophecy and God of War 3. Also the future looks bright with No Man's Sky, Gran Tourismo Sport, Horizon Zero Dawn,Gravity Rush 2, Persona 5,God of War, Days Gone, Death Stranding, Detroit:Become Human, Nioh, Wild and Spider man. Oh and that doesn't even count all the indie titles that are coming.
@Hardiman,
I believe your reasoning is exactly why most if not all PlayStation exclusive will struggle to meet the need of this articles question, primarily because there is simply so many impressive exclusives to choose from. I don't mean to say that another platform offers better exclusives, it just that the variety on PlayStation is quite vast. The minute a considerably great PlayStation exclusive releases, another is not too far behind.
Yeah I did get off topic. I've just enjoyed the exclusives that I've played so far and I am really looking forward to the future.
Impressive is subjective (The Order? Really?), but it's true that there's a lot of choice to consider.
All told, though, I think that the ones formed directly by Sony teams should be given priority 1, over anything that was a collaboration with another studio.
As for me personally, if we're not restricted to just made by inner Sony teams, I've got a lot I could pick both in and out.
However, I think I'd vote Ratchet and Clank (the original series, not the reboot) as the rep for Sony overall. (if we're talking specific systems, though, then Ar Tonelico II is also one of my top picks for PS2)
Great humor, lovable characters, and over-the-top action that other shooter-platformer hybrids could learn a lot from.
It was not my intention to disrespect anyone with my post. Like I said I did get off topic and if it is a problem then I can just delete the comment. I'm just so happy with how Sony is really going out of their way to allow great games on their platform that I want to play. Also reviews be damned because The order was a fiscal success so I'm looking forward to The Order 1887.
I'll vote for that when we get a good First Person Shooter.
Would be extra happy if it has coop or multiplayer.
Honestly, all that list says to me is that the best games on PS4 are PS3 games. Uncharted 4 is the best game I've played since TLoU but half the games you listed are from last gen. That's not a good representation of the PS4 imo - you should have left them out. There's enough quality to not have to talk about PS3 remasters.
That is true but they are still exclusive to the Ps4 as well and a lot of gamers experienced them for the first time on PS4. I wouldn't say half though simply for the fact that there even more exclusives coming to the PS4 that haven't been mentioned.
The Order? ? No.... at least not for me. Great graphics and all, but that was it for me. I'm still not half way through that game. I just can't get enthralled in it
Interesting concept but its all going to be based on what they player prefers. If Halo was your favorite series then Xbox One it is. Me, I had a PS2 followed by a PS3 and now I have a PS4 and will get the PS5 when it comes out in the future.
Simply based on the games list according the article I would say Splatoon, as it launched during a time of severe drought on the Wii U. The game was not only well received it actually sold quite a few Wii U's. Of course, the article isn't asking which games were subjectively better, nor am I saying Splatoon was a better game than say UC4, however a far as which platforms were in greater need of greatness and received just that, Splatoon on the Wii U, by far.
I see what you did there.
Edit:Dang it Christopher beat me to it.
Halo was more og xbox/360. Xbox is Gow now it demonstrates what the Xbox brand is all about community co op gameplay with great multiplayer. Sony is obviously what ever title you want to pick from naughty dog more of a single player machine, the loner system with great single player experiences plus psn is atrocious ..
Psn isn't that bad, well I haven't has that much trouble with it. Also I agree with you, but for me xbox is still halo only because I just don't like gears one bit. Sony you are so right lol, but definitely uncharted 4 if you had to name a game. Sony does have some good mp games, but their focus has always been an amazing single player.
NES -Super Mario Bros
Sega Master System- Shinobi
Sega Genesis- Sonic
Super Nintendo- Zelda
N64- Goldeneye
Dreamcast- Virtua Fighter
PlayStation- Crash Bandicoot
Gamecube- Luigi's Mansion
Xbox- Halo Combat Evolved
PlayStation 2- God of War
Xbox 360- Gears of War
PlayStation 3- Uncharted
WiiU - Splatoon
Xbox One- Killer Instinct
PlayStation 4- Bloodbourne
I think every generation has a killer app these are my picks.
I'd pick Ar Tonelico II for PS2's headliner, alongside R&C, but that's just me.XD
Fair
Funny thing is i thought metal gear was the ps2 mascot even though it wasn't made by sony. Good list though
As it stands now, I think Uncharted is a better representative of the Playstation brand than God of War.
And Halo IS Xbox, not Gears. Although Gears come close.
Mario is way too general for this. Mariio is a character, albeit a frequent character. He crosses way too many genres to be a single thing on your list. Maybe specify with Mario Kart or Mario platformers, When we see kratos driving a car, playing tennis, playing party games, or also in a 2d platformer, you aren't comparing properly.
Definitely not Splatoon just because that's from left field for Nintendo, and they themselves aren't entirely comfortable with the online competitiveness of it. Tie between Halo and Uncharted, Halo because every Xbox should just include a Halo game like NES had Mario bundled. Uncharted because it is heavy heavy story with spots of gameplay, which with Metal Gear is associated with Sony now.
For PlayStation 4 think it's going to be Horizon or no man's sky. something unique to ps4. .Bloodborne and uncharted 4 are fantastic games. But uncharted I consider a ps3 franchise wrapped up on ps4. Bloodborne is a souls extension, started on ps3. I'm not sure with X1. Most it's exclusives are long running franchises. So maybe sea of thieves if it turns out to be great. Wii u I have no idea. I just think exclusive that represents it's system the best should be something unique to that system. Something couldn't find a similar game on last gen.
In your opinion. In mine, a lot of games come not only close to Uncharted 4, but surpass it.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is a better game to me and has far more replay-ability. It may not have the outright quality of Uncharted 4 but in pretty much every other area it's a better game also gives it a run for it's money in terms of visuals as well.
Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 are hands down the BEST exclusives to come out this gen. No other exclusives have come close on any other console.
They are among the best, but whether they are THE best or not, it's debatable.
Personally, Bloodborne is my second favorite game of this console generation. Uncharted 4, on the other hand, is a good game, but there are plenty of games I enjoyed much more, especially on Wii U. Uncharted 4 is actually my least favorite of the whole series, sadly. :(
i have all 3 games defiantly Splatoon wins have clocked over 764 hours and played 333 times
personally so far 3rd party games have been better overall than exclusives
xbox one-sunset overdrive(truly shameful more xbox gamers didn't support the game)
ps4-uncharted 4
and these sort of questions fall under personal preference. some gamer may like bloodborne or halo 5 etc,
sales impact wise so far
halo 5 and uncharted 4
but i think real question is do we still have exclusive games that are truly system sellers? few gens ago we had those sort of exclusives(when gta was exclusive to ps2)
i think the closest is zelda because there are millions of gamers who would happily buy a console to play it
For Xbox One, it has to be Sunset Overdrive. That was a fantastic game by Insomniac that was unfortunately slept on by many. It is my favorite game this console generation.
OK Wii U: Mario Kart 8
It's simple and fun, maps are cool, online works fine and maps packs are great
Xbox 1: Halo 5
Okay Single player is okay but the multi players is the best FPS experience on consoles at the moment. The game is constantly getting updates with Free (yes free) DLC and stuff. And the best part? it's not trying to be Call of duty and it doesn't play like one.
Ps4: Uncharted 4
One of the best single player experience out there. What's amazing in Uncharted is how you can get absorbed into this world. I really feel like I'm traveling to exotic location.
Side note: I always find funny that PPL Downplay Halo 5 because of the single player when the core of the Halo since 2 has been the multiplayer aspect of the game.
But are the 1st to mentioned that Uncharted 4 Focus is the single player and not the average multiplayer.
(personally I must be abnormal cause I did enjoyed the single player of Halo and did enjoyed the multi of Uncharted 4).
Uncharted 4 had an incredible Single Player and an average multiplayer. Halo 5 had an incredible multiplayer but a shit single player.
And I never thought id hear a Halo fan say the story of Halo doesn't matter...
Ill be honest to say that I was never a big fan of the Halo single experience.
I remember playing the 1st when it was the craze and wondering why ppl loved it?
Replaying the same level on mirror side (the dam tower) with Floods instead of covenant wasn't for me great game play.
I preferred the others and they are rich in lore but can't say that I felled invest into them.
and no Halo5 single player isn't shit it's a good average single player that play well but isn't memorable just like Uncharted Multi It's fun but won win any awards.
I also enjoyed the single player of halo 5 and like the mp of uncharted 4, so basically I agree with everything you said. Still waiting for zelda or metroid before I buy a wii u and sadly with rumors of the NX coming out in march I might just buy that and skip the wii u.
These are my favorite console exclusives thus far, in no particular order. Ratchet &Clank, Sunset Overdrive, Ori &the Blind Forest, Uncharted 4, Infamous Second Son, Inside, Bloodborne, Tearaway Unfolded, Halo 5 (MP),and Rare Replay. Nintendo, has a lot of great looking games, but I don't own one, unfortunately. Hopefully I get a chance to play most of them on the NX via BC.
I would like to apologise if I upset anyone with my post. I'm pretty new to this site and I did really get off topic. It was not my intention to upset anyone with my post. I'm just enjoying my time with the games that I'm playing and the ones that are coming out down the road. Again no disrespect intended. Just let me know and I'll delete the post.
For Xbox One, I'd say Halo V. Xbox has always been defined by Halo though. It's pretty much the first game you think of when talking about exclusive titles. It's very online intensive, highly competitive, and it's a FPS. All things that, realistically, is how every Xbox has been portrayed by the public opinion and Microsoft offerings alike.
For Wii U, Smash 4. It basically says, "we're taking characters and tossing them into each other's worlds. The online could be better, but it's a great time regardless." It also lends a voice to the notion that their offering is overwhelmingly first party with some third party offerings here and there, much like the roster.
For PlayStation 4, I have no idea. I want to say Uncharted because Sony does do great cinematic titles that pull you in, but that doesn't explain the other side of Sony where they're not afraid to give you some truly unique experiences. In some ways, Uncharted better fits, but in other ways, I'd say something like Gravity Rush. There's no single game I could use to define PlayStation 4.
This is,a debate Playstation simply couldn't win, and that's not a bad thing. Unlike Nintendo with Mario and Xbox with halo Sony hasn't clung for dear life to any franchise. In fact they are doing the opposite, uncharted could keep going and every entry be a sure goty contender but instead they retired the series to maintain its integrity. Sony has way too many games constantly coming out to be narrowed to a single one to be defined by.
Killer Instinct best represents Xbox One!? um...wait, what!? Out of all exclusives that's the one that represents the system best?
XB1: QB or Sunset Overdrive. While Halo 5 is the biggest, I think these two represent the XB1 the best in being titles that people on the console should love, but end up being like most games this generation, not as much as we expected for a reason we couldn't determine beforehand.
PS4: Uncharted 4. It was delayed, SP had no replayability, and MP was underwhelming compared to the competition's best MP game. That's kind of Sony in a nutshell for me. Yes, I know that's not all games, but it's kind of Sony's go-to thing. It's not a bad game, just... not as good as it could be.
WiiU: Splatoon. Basic as heck online shooter on a system not known for it's MP that takes off like crazy and defies all expectations. I dislike Nintendo's IPs almost entirely, but there's no denying that its fans take every chance to inform people what is what with the console, even when it's being outsold by the new boys.
"That's kind of Sony in a nutshell for me"
Why even own a Ps4 if (in your opinion) most the games have no replayability and bad multiplayer?
On the contrary, I've played UC4 campaign 3 times so far, and play the MP occasionally as well. Also Bloodborne has more replayability than many titles.
***Why even own a Ps4 if (in your opinion) most the games have no replayability and bad multiplayer? ***
Third-party games. I play on console primarily and that's at least 80% of why I own a console.
***I've played UC4 campaign 3 times so far***
Anectdotes doesn't trump the actual facts. I guarantee 95% of people who played the game never touched the SP after the first time through (if they even finished that).
***Bloodborne has more replayability than many titles.***
One title doesn't a trend set. I even said " Yes, I know that's not all games, but it's kind of Sony's go-to thing."
And not to say this isn't an issue on other platforms, but I think it's more notable on the "Big" titles that Sony has on its 8th gen platform.
Feel free to disagree. That's how this thing works. I say what I think, you say what you think. We move on.
mario maker, nothing else really feels like it was made specifically for certain hardware.
Hey SolidGear 3 is Soma exclusive to the PS4? I know it's on PC but as far as consoles is it only on PS4? Reason I'm asking is because I've been reading about it and watching trailers and I have to say it is right up my alley. I will definitely be getting this horror title in the future.
Lol is it even debatable? I won't even mention the system/game that's how certain I am
Truly the ones that made you buy the system without any remorse and you end up realizing there are other great games on the console.
In the case of PlayStation, it can't be one as the PlayStation theme for its exclusives is "diversity". They have so many good exclusives with different styles and art. You cannot think about 1 exclusive for Playstation, you think in many with their diversity.
In terms of one title which comes to mind when i think of a console its cot to be Halo 5 for Xbox One. Uncharted 4 screams PS4, but maybe because its a younger series it just doesn't match how intertwined Halo is with Xbox' DNA. What matters is that both games represent what the systems stand for. Uncharted has arguably the best SP experience on consoles, which is what PlayStation is all about imo, and Halo has (imo) the best multiplayer available today, and Xbox is all about multiplayer.
(Btw, I'm fully expecting downvotes because i gave praise to an Xbox game. I know how this site works.)
My three picks would be halo 5 for xbox then you have uncharted 4 for ps4 and then it's a toss up for me between super mario maker or splatoon.
From the start Sony has been marketing that their system is where the gamers play. It's hard to just pick one because thee are so many to choose from. I like many different game play styles and am very happy to have a large selection to choose from.I just finished Uncharted 4 and now I'm enjoying Until Dawn! Where I come from choice is a great thing. Now with my bday coming I'll finally be playing The Last Guardian. Also PSVR games like Hear They Lie looks interesting,
Microsoft looks set to release Killer Instinct Classic 2 on Xbox One later this year.
Microsoft rebooted the Rare created fighting series in time for Xbox One's launch in November 2013.
