"Minecraft has made the move from mouse and keyboard to controller wonderfully; if you’ve ever played a first-person perspective game with a controller, Minecraft will be immediately familiar. Case in point: talking about controls in this review was very much an afterthought. They’re so intuitive that you barely even notice the fact that there’s something there translating your thoughts about what to do into a language that the game’s code can understand. A good control scheme is one that doesn’t stand out.
Minecraft isn’t for everybody (fortunately, there’s a free demo that you can try), but for those who will hear its call, it’s easily one of the best games available on Xbox One. And even for those who don’t catch the Minecraft bug, it’s hard to argue that this is one of the most significant game releases of the last few years, and something for which gamers and the game industry, as a whole, should be grateful."
