Jamie looks at the Uncharted series, and puts together a small list of what he wants from Uncharted 4. The real question howvever, is what do you want from Uncharted 4? What would you like to see or do in the game? Clipping Error is eager to know.
Amazing graphics, amazing story, amazing gameplay, amazing music, amazing ending, amazing multiplayer. That's pretty much it, anything else will be a bonus.
I'm going to be honest, I'd like to see a death of one of the main characters, perhaps towards the end. An emotional but amazing ending.
Wouldn't mind that as well, new generation, new characters to keep things fresh. After TLOU I could imagine them bringing in quite a few new characters (that help Drake during his story) without making it feel pointless. I could even imagine them making Elena or so playable. Also everything the first post mentioned because it's Naughty Dog :D
I'm afraid that the game will end the story on a roller coaster of epic game play and emotionally driven narrative which I won't be able to handle. When I finished TLOU I had to take a few days away from games to process it all. Plus I fear we are going to lose characters we love. Either way, this game is going to be unforgettable.
Another great rollercoaster ride from beginning to end.
@NukaCola May the force be with you my friend... OT: A concluding satisfying ending to Drakes story with top notch graphics and the best 3rd person gameplay ever seen.
"An emotional but amazing ending." I was going to simplify and just say "an end", but this works. I don't want to see Uncharted get dragged out over numerous games (technically 3 of them was fine - not counting the Vita game). If the 4th will bring some closure so Naughty Dog can bring something brand new and fresh to the table with the same level story telling and graphical prowess, then bring it. Please just let this be the last one.
Multiplayer like U2 would be great.
I hope it'd be better than the 2nd one, epic adventure and incredible locations, maybe more open climbing. Though I sincerely doubt they are capable of doing it.
I'm pretty certain they'll top uncharted 2. After developing the last of us, which is the best game from ND in my opinion, they comprehensively proved that they are pace setters in terms of story telling and pacing. Gameplay wise, it's a guarantee that they will deliver. Furthermore, judging from the trailer which was rendered in game, U4 is going to be easily the best looking current gen game. Throw in the fact that they have U2 as a benchmark and Straley and Druckmann are the directors, i can't see them not producing something better or at least on par with U2.
Every Uncharted looks like magic. But for example first one was quite boring by the and, third got boring gameplay, and Last of Us had meh universe(it's not you, it's me, I'm sick of post-apo "world is bad because the only thing you can in the game do is kill, mkay?" universes), hence worries. Uncharted 2 hit the spot though. Still waiting for anyone in the shooter genre to top it, though Binary Domain was close.
Sounds like a typical uncharted game
Couldn't have set it better myself. I have no doubt about the graphics, as far story and multiplayer, we have to wait and see...But we know the story is going to be amazing as well.
I want it to be polished, engrossing and fun. Doesn't have to be a technical marvel, but it looks like that is just par for the course for ND.
A game based on the story not the set pieces like UC3. Better gameplay, and a mp like UC2. A darker story, but still retaining that UC magic we all love.
Agree 100%. I felt UC3 focused a little too much on the set pieces, and consequently the story felt like it was just worked around them sort of like an afterthought.
I just want to see Elena involved more then turning up half way through the game for a little bit before being neglected untill the end. The second game we had Chloe and Sully from the start, the third game it was Sully so it makes sense that the last game would heavily feature Elena and their relationship which is now set in stone. I could easily see flashbacks filling in the gaps of what happened to their on and off relationship. You could say the first game had her involved more but they had just met and she was off recording things, not giving a shit about the pirates...LIKE A BOSS. I trust anything NaughtyDog do at this point and I don't say that for many developers....HOWEVER I say that for the single player. Multiplayer needs to bring back Uncharted 2s multiplayer It could be the last Uncharted game or last one in a long time so I want the online to be classic Uncharted and none of that every other online bullshit they had in Uncharted 3. Thing is they could easily add that all that "COD" crap with a DLC pack. I just think they should focus on the fans who liked the multiplayer for what it was. No loadouts, no upgradable boosters, no weapon mods, randomly generated weapons on map and no kickbacks...I'll be set :)
I honestly, as much as I love Uncharted, want Drake to maybe die. This needs to be the final Uncharted. I think every Uncharted is great, but sometimes you need to go out on a high note.
I hope all the characters die in a gamma ray burst.
There are probably far easier ways to kill off the cast that are actually relevant to the story plot.
Yeah but to be honest if there's anyone who could pull off a gamma ray burst it'd be Naughty Dog. Make it happen.
More game, less movie
On doughnut Drake
As long as you don't have to shake the controller to do anything, I don't care what's in it.
I actually liked shaking the controller in the Last of Us. I thought it was a cool little touch
Call me old fashioned, but I would definitely "prefer" more puzzles like the old Tomb Raider games and less Michael Bay Call of Duty set pieces. The set pieces are great, I just want more puzzles to make me think.
Then the uncharted games aren't for you. Uncharted has never been about the puzzles. Don't see why they should start now
Uncharted 3 had some interesting one`s I`d like to see more of those to pad out the noncombat sections of the game
No more regenerative health, that garbage should stay in last gen. Add a crafting system like TLOU to heal yourself and enhance your weapons. Crafting should carry through to more games as it makes more sense and adds challenge.
I like the thought of that, I think crafting could work very well in uncharted
add TLOU combat system too...maybe not as brutal the gunplay need to be like TLOU too ...never played a game where guns felt soo real ...let's be honest all TPS games didn't have that except Max Payne 3 and TLOU the rest feel like Pew Pew Guns also i like to have the options TLOU offer where you can avoid or stealth or kill your enemies i want Uncharted 4 to be Wide linear like TLOU plus i want to explore alot also there is that thing that always bothered me in Uncharted games is that once you broke stealth every one and their mother have a GPS on you no matter where you go TLOU fixed that so i want that to be add too also TLOU AI too but add more thanks to PS4 power
If you go do too many features "...like the Last of Us" then it's not going to be Uncharted. You are just going to have the Last of Us with Uncharted characters
I concur, i want also elena to get bitten by a funghi ridden man, but to be immune. Then much older sully has to get her through post apocalyptic city. Wow, that'd be great, don't think i've seen it in any game yet!
@-Foxtrot yeah i get that but i think there is alot from TLOU that would make Uncharted a much better game don't you think soo ?! they can add all those things but with different theme and style to make them different enough
a good boss fight. im looking at you 3
Lol sorry but if you're gonna start pointing fingers the lezarovic boss fight was bland and utter impossible to lose even on crushing.
I disagree, i just cant seem to beat the baldy twat, Don't know why ?
Environmental hazards, more blood and maybe some gore (if its really going for a darker tone), dynamic battlegrounds with many destructable walls and cover, weapon customization, multiple stealth kill animations, use almost anything on the level as an meele weapon, ability to place traps, a neat combo system for fist fights and possibly puzzles that actually make you think hard would be nice. edit: oh and remove the regen health system that takes away alot of the fun in my opinion, also good boss fights.
How about the best of Uncharted 1 - 3 plus, the best from TLOU and then more.
Can't wait to see in gameplay, possible.SPOILER alert gonna be bad, hard and emotional seeing sully die imo
I want it to be on the level of Uncharted 2, and not 3. Hopefully the Uncharted2/Tlou directors/writers make it happen. 3 was kinda disappointing to me coming from the sheer greatness of 2.
3 was a man's favorite of the series and he's gone back to replay it more often than 2 (though he always enjoys the ride when going back to any of them)
Congrats, someone not afraid to speak against the empty trendy idea that 2 was vastly superior. Funny no one ever responds when asked to explain why, hmmm wonder why that is
I would like to see some new tech that contributes to the gun fights to make them more immersive. Like Realistic destruction of environments and cool little details that make it feel more alive. The sort of ideas that give the open, big fire fights more of a sandbox feel to the them. Also more exploring that feels open (not exploring on a set path for you) and puzzles that are truly tough... I just want ND to really bring what makes uncharted, uncharted! And make it the best of that... I believe they know "that" best; I trust them and that trust feels good!
ooooo next gen envirodestruction would be cool. Like you shoot old stone pillars and they start crumbling if you concentrate fire.
I agree with everything you said 100% I wish Uncharted 4 will have desctrutive enviorment that would make it better and much more realistic
More of the same mostly. A new adventure with some awesome new set pieces is enough to justify full price for a man given ND's adventures. Though a little more openness and a refined shooting mechanic would be cool as well. If they can expand on co-op stuff while still keeping the SP up to par with the rest of the series that would be great also.
i wanna see the multiplayer style from uncharted 2 return, want some weapon upgrading(a sense of progress),more gameplay mechanics, maybe a more complex melee system,I also want more boss battles, maybe some ancient magic weapons in the campaign??
I want it to be the best UC ever...And to regain its place that in my opinion TR took away as the best action adventure gaming series out there....
Something a bit less linear.
Linear game is used to describe a story that is straightforward and doesn't change much or any based on the player's actions. In other words, every player gets the same story when they play it, every time. So I imagine that you want to Halo 5 and Gears of War 4 to not to be linear too.
Halo is less linear than Uncharted buddy
@Convas Into what extent buddy?
Wow. I'll see myself out: http://ultness.com/wp-conte...
I want a game that's better than Uncharted 2, but not as s**t bad as Uncharted 3.
Uncharted 3 was nowhere near "sh*t bad* Your opinion is bad.
Say the same for you sheep. And it was S**t bad.
You are wrong
A Playstation game that's actually good.
Idk, another great game could be one too many, since PlayStation is known for quality games. Fanboys may not survive it.
I see that you aren't attached to your bubbles, say goodbye to one.
trying to top how great UC2 was. a very very tall order.
More of the same, good fun and engaging story.
Crisp free throws, tight steering and balanced magic. It would be cool if they brought back friendships too.
I want megalodon, knee arrows and chest-high walls. And Samuel L. Jackson, he's rarely in anything.
A game that gives The Last of Us a run for its money.
