Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Review - Gamer Headlines

Gamer Headlines writes: "In an era where most video games based off popular licenses end up being huge disappointments, Monolith Productions’ Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor proves that there are still some quality experiences to be had with licensed titles. However, Shadow of Mordor does suffer from an identity crisis as it relies heavily on mechanics that have been introduced in other games, but it manages to implement them so well with its own unique gameplay hooks that it successfully stands on its own. Yep. My friend was talking to me about this game and I had no idea what it was. He said it's everything he hoped for and more. Saw the reviews and got interested and then watched some gameplay, now I want it! Going to my buddies house to check it out today before buying, but I liked what I saw on YouTube.

Yup, I had the chance to try out a demo a few weeks ago, and wasn't impressed at all. The full game turned out to be much better!

Only have few issues with the running and climbing , also the graphics need to evolve if it got huge sales. But story and gameplay are great. Much better gameplay then assassin because it's tougher. Hopefully they don't do like assassin with the gameplay if it have a sequel.

The game has a nice blend of previous mechanics, but what sets it apart is the Nemesis system. It's not truly groundbreaking, but it's a very solid game.
