Twinfinite takes a look at 5 games that clearly inspired Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. If you liked these games, you'll probably like Shadow of Mordor too.
I may go as far as to say that this is my favorite game I have played this year. It's not perfect, but hell it's fun! And to think this wasn't even on my radar until a week prior to release when all the amazing reviews started popping up.
Agreed. I became aware of this 2-3 days before release. Bought it on release night and LOVE it.
Thanks for confirming I probably will not like this game. I don't like AC or FC. Batman games aren't for me. I haven't play Skyrim. And I don't like Dishonored either.
@^^^ Sorry for asking but, what do you like anyway???
I also knew nothing about this game until the reviews started coming out. Crazy fun but difficult starting out.
If what you say is true, and I hope it is, then where is all the hate for this game? Since the new gen has launched, if a game is well liked, well made, or amazing, it usually gets a ton of hate. Just for a second, compare Destiny (which is a great game) to Battlefield 4. One was broken at launch. The other wasn't.
Picked it up Yesterday and still have yet to play it. That's all going to change tonight.
Hmmmm I love all 5 of those games. Now i am even more tempted to try this game. I feel i can wait though, i will have FC4 and ACU next month
I loved all those games. Only thing convincing me not to get it is IGNs review saying it has an uninteresting story, but considering I loved both AC3 and Watch Dogs (Games attacked for their boring stories.) I don't see how this will be a problem for me.
Not liking the story is subjective. So far, the story is better than ACIII in my opinion.
I genuinely like the story presented here. I've sunk about thirteen hours thus *far and have only completed three(maybe four) story missions. That nemesis system... The game is really packed with content. It should take me, at my pace, over forty hours to 100% it. But since the nemesis system technically is never ending(when you kill an officer another Orc eventually moves up, or becomes a captain) I honestly can see myself just booting it up a year from now and just playing around in that system. It's the most fun I have had on my current-gen console.
I've never found much value in other people rating the quality of a story. For instance, pretty much every story told in every genre will have a host of people that call it crap. There are so many factors that impact a person's enjoyment of a story that I doubt there has ever been much objectivity in the words "uninteresting story."
Tbf after playing destinys boring story I'm looking forward to this
The Game is great. I am hunting uruks down as i type. I played this game for a few hours and all i do is doing site stuff and rain chaos upon these orks, Great atmosphere, great gameplay. loving it so far and i have yet to dive into the story.
Haven't played too much into the story but from I have gotten through, the initial ascension of the pathetic orc named Ratbag is pretty funny. Mostly just enjoying running around doing all the dynamic side quests, getting myself in over my head fighting 3 captains at a time and the awesome feeling of almost dying multiple times but managing to lop off each one of their heads without actually dying. So satisfying.
