The release date of Driveclub is closing in, and Game Director Paul Rustchynsky is still providing new information, including some quite interesting details.
So it doesn't have a big customization system, that's the least of my worries. At least they got something that players can do to the cars. i'm not too disappointed with the fact that leaving a club, you can't take the rewards with you because if anybody played TDU2, when you in a club, and win, you get rewards, but when you leave a club, your rewards stays with them. So i'm not bothered by this at all! i can't wait to play time trial mode and post some cool lap times on it, it's my destiny to stay on top of the leaderboards. Can't wait to get this! :-)
I hope it has more customization than GT5, that would be awesome!
lol, no It is an arcade/ sim racer not a full sim. The only customization you get is paint jobs and some other custom jobs for your club I am not a car game enthusiast anyway, wouldn't know much about tuning or anything. Just love to get a car on the track and race hence making Drive club great for me
I hope it does not have cardboard people like F5, that would be awesome!..;)
If I wanted to spend 10 hours screwing around with car setup for every hour of racing, I'd play GT5 or Forza. We need more racers focused on what matters most: racing. More James Hunt, less Nicki Lauda, if you will.
Oooh, nostalgic, I like it! :^) DC, day 1
completely disagree with everything you just said.Racing is tuning 80% of the time and racing 20% of the time ( 82% of stats are made up ;)).Tuning is what matters most.We need more sim racers. We only had 2 per console last gen, while we had a ton of arcade racers.Judging by how incredible sim racers sale on consoles, the market is there for more developers to dabble in the field.
Wow no customizations?!? What a bummer. Guess ill just stay with the free plus version
It's already a Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 Super Sport. What else were you going to do to it? It's almost offensive to open that hood. And I quote: "The current Super Sport version of the Veyron is recognized by Guinness World Records as the fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a top speed of 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph)"
just because it can do 267 in a straight line doesn't make it the best racing car ever for every situation. one thing i love about forza (and hopefully project cars) is you can adjust the tire pressure, the tire compound, the spring dampening, ride height, rim size, gearing, differential, weight, downforce etc (even on the veyron)... why? because every track is different and different tracks need different setups depending on the type of corners, how long the straights are, elevation, temperature etc etc. it even measures tire deformation/temperature and has telemetry overlay options (hopefully project cars will too)... thats why for sim lovers such as myself, drive club is just a shallow arcade racer. theres no depth, no strategy, no edge. if drive club were a football title it would be like having one play for defense and one for play offense....but man those jerseys and stadiums would look amazing!
@WeAreLegion Forgetting the DC stuff for a minute..and putting my car enthusiast cap on... "What else were you going to do to it? It's almost offensive to open that hood. " The bugatti is an expensive car but its a soulless one too. I dont think any owner of one would be too precious about modding one...its no ferrari 250GTO, if you know what I mean. Its the fastest car for sure in a straight line, but I would rather be behind the wheel of a 458 speciale or a carrera GT3-RS 4.0, with the clubsport package. But thats just the car lover in me. I think the Bugatti is a million dollar penis extension. A car rich people have to one up each other. If I owned one, I would probably be wishing I bought a la ferrari or a P1 instead. sorry to derail you guys topic. Im just passionate about cars!
@system22, if Project Cars/Forza/GT already let you do that (which they do/will), then why do you need Drive Club to offer it? Some of us want a racing game that isn't bogged down by that stuff, and that's who it's for. It's like enjoying a hyper-realistic shooter like Arma, and complaining that Halo should be more like it. Different sort of game, different sort of focus. Drive Club is about racing, not tuning your ride. It's about who drives the best line, not who spent 3 hours running countless practice laps trying to get the correct PSI on their right front Firestones.
Not like those nascar cars they only go in circles i drive my scooter in circles before....is not fun
@WeAreLegion The Guinness record was set by averaging 2 runs in opposite directions those two runs were 427.93 km/h (265.90 mph) and 434.20 km/h (269.80 mph). The Hennessey Venom GT hit 270.49mph at the Kennedy Space Center on February 14th. However they were not allowed to do a second run in the opposite direction as such they are discounted by Guinness. Also, the Veyron may be quick in a straight line but it can be beaten around a track by a Caterham which costs less than 4% (yes 4!) of the price of the Veyron. https://www.youtube.com/wat...
you see if you were really interested in DC you would of known that ahwile ago in Previous Dc articles :/ but although i like Customization in racers like Midnight Club i would design my car once and play with it forever and i spent most of my time in cockpit view so i not was even looking at the designs and lemme tell you about the tuning i didn't even pay attention to it all i did was buy the most expensive tuning kit whether it was for suspension/brakes/nitro/accele ration every time i unlocked a new kit i bought it. So once DC is a good racer i should have a blast.
Yeah, if only there was a racing game that offered deep customization on the market. Oh wait...that's most of them. This game isn't for you.
minimize to M A X I M I Z E
The attention to detail of DC is insane. Beautiful game
at least graphically. the game depth on the other hand is something to be desired.
Deep enough for me by a mile, so, can't wait to get my hands on it. I know it'll keep me busy for quite a long while.
@system22 I've heard that being a blind fanboy makes you miss out on some really cool stuff, yeah?
@system22, Keep trolling mate. Like in your past posts. I bet you never play a Evolution studio game. You have nothing to argue about the graphics so you go bashing the gameplay without playing the game or even playing a evolution studio game. Like Motorstorm for example which had one of the best arcade racing gameplay.
@RIP_Weazel: I have a ps4, dumbass. I just don't think DC is going to be a good game.
You dont own a PS4 like many other trolls who claim they do on N4G. Being uncivilized by insulting posters isn't needed here as well.
We already know you are an xbox fanboy. Can't fool anyone. So fu*k off and play your flopza. :^) Weren't you the one saying you have no interest in arcade racers at all. Funny seeing you showering FH2 with praises ad criticizing DC every chance you get. Get lost from here hypocrite.
Gotta love those wet Tea leaves growing in the hot sun :)
@system "I have a ps4, dumbass. I just don't think DC is going to be a good game." Sure you have a ps4. Who are you fooling?
His uncivil behavior automatically invalidates his comment. Its pretty obvious that he doesn't own a PS4 when he uses insults instead of proving it.
This video I found shows just how much Driveclub has improved over the last year. Amazing. http://youtu.be/SAM4ckGpRGc
Ten cars for the PS Plus edition that he stated last Fall would be "minus a few cars". Stay classy, Paul.
You can still platinum the game those "few cars"
The £35 upgrade to the full version is really tempting. I'm in! Lol
£35 is decent. I remember I bought MotorStorm Apocalypse on launch day for less than that price at retail, and that was only 3 years ago. I feel we're getting ripped off with the RRP of games now. I can't believe they had to adjust the PS+ upgrade from £42.99 when that's already more than a brand new full retail game should ever cost, and yet brand new games now are £45-50. They're fleecing us this gen.
Look at the Argos catalogue... It's £60 for a game... £55 for most of them... Like WTF. Before games were £35-40
Great stuff, and @WeAreLegion, Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 Super Sport 267.856 mph wow!!!.
Feel like all these announcements are standard racing game features. I mean invisible HUD and photo mode after launch? Is this exciting?
