Nintendo Wii…not just for kids

Staff from the Ecolocal BikeStreet project recently visited sheltered housing residents at Thomas Wall Close, Sutton to give them the chance to play games on the Nintendo Wii, the latest hi-tech video games console.

Residents took it in turns with the hand-held controls and went head-to-head with the project staff in several of the games, including golf, tennis and ten-pin bowling.

Bending, stretching and moving whilst playing the Nintendo Wii can become a real workout and it helps older people to stay physically and mentally active.

Susan Holbrook, Neighbourhood Team Manager said: We have had great fun with the residents today. They have all been really keen to get involved and its been a terrific way of bridging the generation gap.

The story is too old to be commented.
