After a year without updates, the famed science-fiction author has terminated his ambitious game project.
A terrible situation. I feared this day would game. Kickstarter, or Early Access for that matter, aren't really the saviors of gaming.
Most of these people are looking for a payout and a way out.
Not sure about "most" but I get what you're saying. How often does this happen? I don't want to be too quick to judge, hopefully he will refund them their money, if not, i'm sure legal actions will happen accordingly.
Maybe I shouldnt of use "most" but I see a lot of unessary crowd funding going on these days. I won't judge however, to each his own.
Wow- why would someone send money whe they have little or no practical recourse to get it back Sounds like this guy can just pocket the money if that is what he wants to do or perhaps pay off debt he generated If the guy hS assets maybe there will be a class action suit but that won t do much for the people who donated - only the attys
See now somebody needs to hunt him down. What I dont like is hes fowarding backers too other projects. He should be banned for life if you dont produce something
I give it a week before we see a class action suit. At the very least backers can make legal bills very painful for this guy.
This was never a good idea. It was doomed to failure from the start. It a shame Neal doesn't know enough about games to have realized that. Really liked Snow Crash though. He should stick to writing cyberpunk novels, or hey maybe make a cyberpunk game I'll buy that in a heartbeat.
