So i guess i need to thank them. That is also the reason my last system from N. was SNES.

I thought it was so unethical what they did behind Sony's back. I rooted for them ever since.

Yup. The PS1 was only released as revenge against Nintendo. And boy did it work.

BrotherNick3831d ago (Edited 3831d ago )

Oh, they intended to develop a system for Nintendo, and one E3 I think they shot it down, but sony went through with making it.

I still have a Nintendo Power with an article about Nintendo and Sony partnering up.....Its so crazy to see how it all turned out.

Nintendo wanted to compete with the sega cd, so they partnered up with sony to make a disc based console/expansion to the SNES. Kutaragi was behind the scenes on building this platform since he was the one responsible for supplying nintendo the sound chips for the SNES (Sound was better on the SNES than on the genesis). Then something happened that made nintendo destroy the partnership between them and sony, and somehow partnered up with Philips(hence the Philips CD-I was born, the biggest Piece of S*** known to man, remember that retarded Zelda game anyone)?

Kutaragi and Sony got pissed, thus they took that Prototype (which was called the Nintendo Playstation at the time) and turned it into a full fledged 32-bit console that we all know as the playstation, and spanked nintendo's A**hole for 10 years.
