CraveOnline: "Here we are a full two weeks from the release of Forza Horizon 2. Several things happened today which indicate that at the very least Microsoft is confident about the release of its Fall 2014 racer."
Sounds like a great game.
I'm about to start playing right now. The install was 37 gigabytes!!!
Mine said 10.something ? Fantastic demo! I loved the first one.
37GB for the full version. I have a review copy. I lol'd at the downvotes. :P
Review copy you say? Can we be friends? :P
This preview nailed it: "Here we are a full two weeks from the release of Forza Horizon 2. Several things happened today which indicate that at the very least Microsoft is confident about the release of its Fall 2014 racer." "Being able to experience the game first-hand lets you decide if it’s a game that suites your tastes. Forza Horizon 2 is a game built for racing fans, but it’s designed in such a way that makes it appealing to a wider audience than the simulative Forza Motorsport." "As far as how good the demo is, I’d go as far as to say it’s one of the best in gaming history. It includes a captivating introduction, a substantial portion of the map, several races, a few cars to choose from, and as a result is a good taste of what’s to come later this month. Things are looking very positive if early reactions on social media and forums is anything to go by." "Live Streaming: Sure, You Can Do That" "Starting next Monday, press are encouraged to share an hour of gameplay live with gamers via Twitch. Although there are a few restrictions to avoid spoilers regarding car unlocks, this is simply unprecedented." --I've been playing the demo for quite awhile today, the car visuals, the car handling, the cars engine sounds, tire screeching, etc, in game music, the environment, the weather effects are without a doubt superb, if the demo is this good this game is essentially a day one hit. It's a awesome game and micro knows it.
Nice! I'll add you as a friend now.
I think Phil Spencer in the helm has really turned the Xbox division down to earth. I'm glad somebody wrote an article about this, because I was concerned the future of reviews were the Destiny debacle. Transparency and demos. Awesome! Downloaded FH2 demo last night, haven't had time to try it yet. Looking forward to it!
Yep, So excited for this game. One of the benefits of owning every platform, you dont get to miss awesome games like these.
Day one for me....This looks more fun to me than the regular Forza games...which I love, including 5. The Open World and online in this game is going to take it to that next level above Forza 5. Can't wait.
If you have not played the 1st horizon game I would suggest picking it up some time if you have a 360 still. For me it was the most fun racing game I played last gen. As for Horizon 2 it looks like it has built on from an amazing game and made it even better. The music looks a great line up. 200+ cars, The Graphics are stunning, Weather too and the handling of the cars is spot on for the type of game it is and most of all its a fun game but can also be made serious too. I really hope people go out and buy an xbox one for Horizon 2 or people with an xbox one pick this game up as its looking like its going to be one of the best games of the new gen so far.
But it havent released yet, how can people judge so soon?
fairly large demo released yesterday on xbox one. while im not a racing fan it is good and im tempted to buy the full game.
the demo is amazing. I honestly haven't had this much fun with a racer in a long time.
could be the first game that's hyped to actually live up to the hype this year.
craveonline If they had to review the same game for the big three Forza Horizon 2 published by MS : Best game ever 9.5/10 Forza Horizon 2 published by Sony: Nite pick it 6.8/10 Forza Horizon 2 published by Nin: Nite pick it 6.5/10 The site is so in favour of anything MS and suck it to Sony and Nintendo..
What's a "nite pick"?
It's actually 10/10 fact.
MS is letting it all hang loose because 1. They know this game is content rich and top notch quality. 2. They want as many people hyped for this game before Driveclub's release as possible. 3. They are trying to get the holiday console purchases started ASAP. Just my guess though. Either way this game looks AMAZING and is definitely the racer that gets me most excited.
ya i mean reading that Microsoft seems very confident, "actual" early review copies, free demo, early live streaming allowed, embargo lifted a week before release. you dont do all that unless you're satisfied with the game you're putting out.
Maybe Microsoft will put more effort into upcoming games from now on because they feel how positive feedback feels (ya, it's good MS, isn't it?). They hadn't got that in a long time. Maybe they won't tho LOL
There's absolutely no doubt that they have a winner on their hands. Letting people play it and spread the word is the best thing they could do for themselves. A friend of mine who doesn't even like racing games logged in, saw what I was playing, watched the trailer, played the demo, then immediately preordered it...
Been playing it for the last hour or so , now. Man....I cant wait to get my hands on the full game. Its a homerun for playground games, it seems ;) EDIT: Best of all...the handling!
The soundtrack alone makes it a buy for me!
I actually thought the opposite mate.
@Gravity_DoGG How are you comparing what you SEE, to what I can FEEL in the controller? Try harder...Much...much harder. http://www.youtube.com/watc... "Not visually stunning like the other racers releasing soon." Looks alot better on my tv than in a compressed youtube vid...or are you going to tell me, different on that too? You sure do talk a lot for somebody that does not own an xbox and clearly has not played a forza game before...the fact that you are even questioning the handling is down right laughable.. News flash... The truth does not give a damn about your opinion, cupcake.
im loving it so much, the free roam is insanely fun and beautiful
I hope they make more games like this. Demo's show a company stands behind its product. This was commonplace early last generation then it faded away as milking began to take hold. Hopefully it can make a comeback. Even free MP weekends would be welcome.
Too true! Demos used to be the norm, now we get a good one about 4 times a year?! Crazy... The good old days, when PC Gamer magazine came with a CD packed with demos and interviews. Hahaha. It was the closest thing to the internet we could hope for back then.
I must be old I remember getting the same thing on 3.5 floppies for the mighty Amiga.. This game looks and plays phenomenal!
I'd love to see more of this. I want devs giving us some sort of early access where we get to demo games ourselves to see if we like it. I'll never need any other source but myself to determine my purchase. FH2 looks like it's gonna please a lot of racing fans.
Just played the demo and it's awesome. Offroading through fields is SICK. Sadly the demo has a glitch where if you capture video, the sound goes out. Oh well. Still, it's awesome.
