Captain Cortez from We Know Gamers speculates on whether a new entry into the original Devil May Cry series will be announced at this year's Tokyo Game Show.
Oh...crawling back to the main series, the one you tried to leave behind Can't imagine why /s
I want to get excited for this, but Capcom has been pumping so much crap out lately that I'm more concerned if true... I mean how many of their major franchises have they either ruined or abandoned at this point?
I don't know what you're talking about everyone wanted Breath of fire 5 to be an IOS exclusive... /s
@Blastoise It's 6 and it's also coming to Android and PC... but yeah. I can't wait for Breath of Fire 6 /s
DMC5 is speculation atm, nothing is confirmed, so hopefully its DmC2
"so hopefully its not DmC2" FTFY
Considering devil may cry 5 has already happened as a reboot of the series, you should change the title to next devil may cry to be announced/shown at tgs.
That reboot is not Devil May Cry 5, it's DmC...
Its so Tricky. Tricky, Tricky, Tricky, Tricky, Huh!
I want another SSX Tricky game the way it was done. That game is still the best in the series. DmC is not now, nor will ever be, DMC5
No that failure of a game is NOT DMC5. I pray it won't be regarded as such as it does not deserve it.
I didn't know there was a new devil may cry coming out! WTF? i like this series!
Dafuq? The last one was awesome btw. Haters gonna hate, but it was fantastic.
I agree, it was one of the best games that came out that year.
"Haters gonna hate" why say something totally stupid like that, it may sound like a totally alien concept to you but maybe "some" people genuinely didn't like the last DmC, or have any trust left in Capcom, it doesn't mean they're "haters" just because they didn't like something I didn't like the new Hitman, compared to the older games it was trash, I didn't like the new direction the devs took the series, guess i'm a "hater" because I know lots of other people liked Hitman Absolution
Calm down. Take a breath.
"but it was fantastically awful" FTFY
If this is so, its great news. DmC and DMC are totally different games. DMC 5 ftw
Don't see why we can't have both
I know I'm in the minority but I'd very much like to see Ninja Theory do a DmC2, I was really surprised and loved the first one (and yes I am a huge fan of the original series).
I second your thoughts!
I'd love one, but I think Ninja Theory are currently working on their own game. If Capcom is making a DmC 2, then it wont be as good as the original unfortunately because NT wont make it
DMC sucks, DmC is great... Make the reboot's sequel, or give the franchise a rest 7-10 years before reboting again... And while giving it a rest, make a new hack & slash IP...
if DmC > DMC then why did DmC sell so bad???? Hint: Because DMC4 had the best Combat System yet.
Because NOSTALGIA > CHANGE.
DMC4? Holy shit, you DMC fans don't know a decent game. DMC4 was literally a hallway and then a reversal of the same hallway. DmC at least spiced it up a bit with some platforming. DmC>DMC4
DmC had one of the biggest plot holes in the existance of the WHOLE DMC franchise. How the **** did Mundus not know Dante had a twin brother when there was a bloody supersized painting in their house blatently showing 2 kids next to Sparda and Eva. DmC had some kick ass environments, however everything else was lifeless. Rubbish boss fights (seriously Mundus morphed baby making funny noises from sum cartoon show), awful enemy designs, stripped from some of the signature moves such as two some time, redundant and awful ending. No turbo mode either for pc, had to rely on modders to do the dirty work that should have been in the title in the first place. DMC4 may not have been the greatest entry, but if any of you actually played the PC version, LDK mode and Turbo mode is enough to make DmC look like a title from a decade ago. The combat in DMC4 was so streamlined and refined. Yeah Dantes missions were a lazy attempt, and I do wish for more weapons for both Dante and Nero, but aside from that, DMC4 did less wrongs then DmC, thats for sure. DMC5 FTW! Make it happen Capcom! If Deep down (Panta Rai) is anything to go by, and Capcom used that engine for DMC5, Capcom has no excuse to literally make one of the best iterations visually on this title. End of DMC4 and DMC2 are both areas Capcom can really flesh out, and they would be absolutely stupid not to.
Dmc4 had the best combat ? Lol You have played Dmc3 right , because Dmc4 Dante was just a bastardised version of the 3rd game. Dmc4 was the same game back to front halfway through .
@Melankolis When the older games have been proven to have way better gameplay than the stupid reboot, sorry you can't chalk that up to nostalgia. Not Happening.... @AceBlazer you clearly didn't read the part where he said had "The best combat." Yeah key word "COMBAT." @Onentyle I going to assume you've never played DMC4 otherwise you wouldn't make a such a statement. Please point me in the direction where dante was able to change his combat styles on the fly? Oh, that's right it's not in DMC3. It is actually one of the best innovations made in the series.
Since when did sales = quality?
After the failure of DmC I'm surprised capcom brought this back however they need something hide the abomination plus with Bayonetta I'm sure they want competition.
Failure? Lol, boy you dont know what a failure is.
DmC is a failure. Commercially and with fan appeal, DmC is a complete failure. Don't try to equate your love of it with success when DmC sold the worst and is hated by the majority. It was so bad that Capcom blamed the failure on Ninja Theory. If it was successful, Capcom wouldn't need to "blame" anyone.
