120 matches is a lot to get Jigglypuff

In Brawl she needed something along the lines of 300, so 120 is hardly anything when compared.

Sakurai and his team made it pretty easy overall in this game to unlock everything, which is fine by me!

Try 1000 matches to get MR.G&W

It's not really that bad at all considering Melee had a lot of time based characters like play 72hrs of Smash in order to get Mewtwo iirc. Jigglypuff has been top-tier for quite a while now.

uhhh You haven't been around much have you Hendrickson.

These "unlocks" are laughable compared to the first 2 games.

You had to play for WEEKS sometimes with friends to unlock stages or characters.

As much as I don't like the idea of unlocking characters in a fighting game, they seem easy enough so it's not too bad.

jeowulf1469d ago

It does add a bit of excitement though, having their silhouette show up and having to fight them.

I do think that the Super Smash Bros series does unlockable characters the best, but its also kind of annoying that I can't just play multiplayer with the whole cast till I jump through some hopes.

jeowulf1469d ago

As if we needed an excuse to play a shit tonne of Smash matches :)

Gearfox1469d ago

I'm just commenting from experience with Brawl since I played a ton of local multiplayer. Good I hated Sub Space.

I would much rather unlock characters rather than pay for them (Killer Instinct) or when they come already unlocked (Mortal Kombat 9).

You forgot Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as well. Capcom is notorious for on disk DLC.

1 minute matches with the roommate it is.
