An introduction to Color Theory in relation to games. Find out why the game artist uses certain combinations of colors for his/her characters, environments and more.
Finally. An article worth reading, as an art student this is a nice writeup. I wish games had more diversity in their color arrangements in general. What is interesting is the more colors you have in a game, (variations,) the harder it is on the engine to render, that is why most games follow strict color themes.
That's a good point. I haven't gotten into performance concerns and I might not for a little while But i'll be sure to keep that in mind as I make these. Any suggestions for improvement on the articles though? I'd love feed back where ever I can get it.
I cant really think of anything to improve, nice work. I might have mentioned something about how different genres handle color differently, shooters tend to drain out colors while platformers and role playing types are more vibrant.
I think that would apply more to the "color meaning" article that's coming soon. Keep an eye out for it. This was more about the concept for color schemes but the purposes of using them will be in the next article. Might take a littler longer than a week this time since it takes more research and analysis.
I miss the good ol days of tons of colors :"| That's one reason I cant wait for KH3!
