With all the ups n downs for the Xbox One, right now i'm sure Microsoft is looking at all options to win fans over to the Xbox. Regardless if it be on a Xbox system or a Computer running Windows. Winning a fan for Xbox is what matters most.
Exactly, I've been thinking of this for while, will they update the W8 for W9 on X1 ?
i guess W9 will support DX12, so, i will go with yes, the will update it ...
The X1 OS is not exactly W8, it is a heavily modified and stripped down version, MS will carry on modifying it over it's life cycle by adding new features and upgrading existing parts, but you cant say it is W8,W9 or WX. It's just the X1 OS VX.X.
Exactly. The XB1 OS is much more like a Windows Phone with Live Tiles than the traditional "Metro/Modern UI" associated with Windows 8. I don't see it getting a Windows 9 overhaul like desktops will, but changes are coming. They have to implement Threshold so that all Windows Store games can be playable on all platforms.
for $199 you can have 2 extra features.
Hopefully windows 9 is a free upgrade or like a $20 upgrade for windows 8 users or it can screw off. Windows over charges just like most of these other software makers. Windows 9 meet ThePirateBay.
i dunno anyone who pays for computer software anymore
I want to pay and support but some of these companys expect you to be filthy rich and there are plenty of free alternatives.
...and this is why PC people b*tch and moan when some games don't come to PC. ...and this is why PC people b*tch and moan that the focus on gaming is on consoles.
Nobody is sure some people think dx12 might not be supported with windows 7. Windows 8 and 8.1 more likely. I'll be upgrading with every new OS you gain a extra few frames with games, higher resolutions, and more memory can be used. dx12 and how good it will be windows 9 is anyones guess. Not sure if xb1 will be updated to windows 9?
Just a few months ago I made the jump to windows 8. Because I heard 8.1 was solid and fixed a lot of them complaints. Now we're talking about windows 9 already. Ugh..
I have only just upgraded to Windows 7 from XP ( upgraded about a year ago ) There is no way i am going to go with Windows 8, it's awful. Windows 9 i will never be ready for. I am perfectly happy with Windows 7. I'm only 25 and Microsoft have released 18 different windows operating systems. That is way too much to keep up with.............well, unless you are rich that is.
Unless they revive the START button they can keep their new OS... Back in my day an "App" was called a "Program" or "Website"
^ this. You sir have won the internet today!
Of course it will. The Xbox One platform is a key part of the one Windows strategy. I can see a time when you'll be able to buy a title on Windows PC from the Windows Store and play across XBOX One and Windows Phone. I can see certain titles having cross platform licenses and the ability to sync cloud saves, and Xbox Live profiles across PC and Xbox. Think Project Spark but to a much grander level. Also Universal Apps are going to be huge. It's an exciting time if you understand MSs long term roadmap. It'll be nothing like GFWL. Project Spark for example is just an "App" hosted on the App Store and linked to your Live account. If I want to play it on Xbox One it just loads my game where I left off.
As a PC gamer, Im not terribly anxious at the thought of MS putting out another GFWL. If they want to leave DRM up to Steam, thats great, but I dont want another Origins, Games for Windows Live, or Uplay ever at any time.
Your spot on. Microsoft are in the middle of a big change where Windows Phone, Windows RT, X32/X64 and the Xbox one all come under one code. There are talks of phone being dropped from Windows Phone and Microsoft now have the best touch UI imo on the market and they are now working on putting the input devices back on top the OS to bring over the business side of Windows to 9.
guys check the verge theres a video leak showing it off. it actually doesn't look half bad. but in terms of xbox yeah who knows. maybe an upgrade will actually improve the ui and make it faster.
haha vista 8.1 obsolete
