After my time with the beta I decided not to purchase but instead rent it from gamefly. If after 2 weeks If still can't get into it, I'll send it back. Two of my favorite FPS are borderlands and Halo so there is no reason why I shouldn't be all over this but it's just missing something and I can't quite figure out what it is. Pacing maybe? I want to love this game but it's just so sloooow.
review scores do not influence my purchasing of a game. Personal experience does.
i feel the same. my personal experience with the beta was awesome so i can't wait to go home and crack out on this game. i'm gonna grind like crazy.
Exatly...and it is a 10. Trust me, ppl are crucify in this game b4 they even hit the endgame content, which will make up 99% of everything over the yrs.
Same I am enjoying it, its fun to play wiyh friends However I am not addicted to the multiplayer unlike the last of us
@joab777 What you are saying is very troubling to me. It's one of the big reasons I don't generally like MMO's. I don't know why I would slog through hours and hours of crap just to get to the fun stuff. There are plenty of games out there that are fun all the way through.
I'm having a blast with this game. Yes, it can get slightly repetitive at times, and the story is slow and thin, but I can tell I'll be playing for awhile. The combat; ai; and soundtrack are sweet. They need to slap a 2X on those "Random Events" though. Too few/far between. Edit: After so much TLOUR-MP the MP is waaay too fast for me. I mean damn it makes me feel like an old man or something. Not to say I suck, but it's actually not as fun as the scripted coop raids/events.
Well aren't you all strong and independent.
Lack of games do also. Look at how much watch dogs sold. People will play a boring or rush to buy an average game when they're a lack of games. Not saying there's anything wrong with average or subpar games, just that people overhype these games then they don't live up people make up excuses because of the devs.
glad to see your not one of those guys who will give up after the first day on a game. Honestly i wouldn't be much of a gamer if I gave up on things I didnt immediately like. I'm really hoping that Bungies really going to kick it into gear with free additions and what not. On another note I had an enjoyable conversation with some xbox one players as we talked about how we enjoyed the beta and what not. The game must be played with friends to get the full experience, Exploring the deepest areas of the moon with 6 people (2 in my fireteam one in the other in another server all in the same party) as we admired the expansive underground areas is what got me hooked.
I doubt there will be anything free for this game. It's Activision. They are going to charge for everything they can. Well maybe I would love to be wrong. I like the game but I'm holding out to see how the dlc/expansions are handled.
I'm having so much fun that any review would be wasted reading, for me.
That's the spirit! If it was for reviews, I would have never played Witcher 2, remember people saying that the game had horrible combat and storytelling, but I found it to be one of the greatest experiences on my 360, along side Oblivion and Skyrim.
I couldn't get into Boderlands, Halo is whatever for me. This game is crack.
Game is good, not great. It gets very repetitive....boss fights are nothing memorable either. The whole thing feels like a casual shooter with auto leveling, and no story. Its fun with friends, but alone it feels really empty. Game could have been a lot better.
Eh I really liked the beta so I got it and so far it's pretty good. It isn't the end all be all but neither was Halo really.
no game is.. I think we tend to ruin games for ourselves with hype. Most are probably more tuned into the build up of AAA game towards release than actually playing it. I love the fact that, there are no reviews out for Destiny at the moment.
Just picked up mine at the MS store. Can't wait to play it later on tonight and I'll be the judge of what the game should scores.
Maybe it isn't a 10/10 to you, but it's a 10/10 to the people who bought it and think it so; after all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I've seen a ton of people that don't like the game at all. I was pretty excited but i don't know now. I think I may just pass. The game seems like Titanfall and Watchdogs which were both way over hyped.
Thing is, a lot of the people who are bashing the game haven't even played it and it's easy to tell. I played Destiny from 11 AM EST to 5:30 PM EST, and I'm still Rank 7 and I just got to the moon, which is the second of five areas. Most of the 'complaints' I've been seeing are about how the game is 'too short' and such. So either they haven't played it at all, or they rushed through just the story missions on the lowest difficulty, and are judging the game based on their own stupidity.
I can understand why you're saying something is over-hyped, but comparing Destiny to Titanfall + Watchdogs is the worse comparison I ever read.
Dont trust those people man, theirs people on Bungies site saying that the game is bad and what not but if you really check their accounts it always comes up that they haven't even touched a Destiny disk much less played it in full.
I was extremely hyped but its not 10/10 so far for me, its sitting around an 8-9 range. I'm interested in seeing what they do next with all this daily content stuff. Maybe new story missions added or planned in the fashion of Halo 4's spartan ops but possibly done in a much better way. They have said their willing to do things that players ask for and is possible so if that's all true and they do implement it in a timely manner than it can definitely make a comeback if need be.
Destiny is very decent but no where near as good as the hype and pre-orders it has garnered. The marketing division for Destiny did their job too well.
Destiny is already boring!
Yea you hate Destiny because you like Halo. You're the Xbox fanboy. I bet you don't even have Destiny
^ You would be correct. No one believes this guy and the Halo fanboys are agreeing with him and everyone who likes it. Too bad for them this game is too big to sway in their favor.
Is that what living with ADD is like? I hope you find something that thrills you.
after a few weeks, Destiny will be abandoned...everyone will be done with it. Level 20 cap ? 2 days of grinding then what ? Every character looks pretty much the same....I cannot find my team mates once they are 10 feet away because everyone looks like 1 of 3 chars !! LOL !!
Dont care about reviews beyond reading curiosity and often LOLZ . For it to impact any of my purchases , i would need to have any site i'd trust with reviews , and a set of writers i could believe do the work seriously BUT AlSO properly , even when i disagree with their feelings . And i dont have much of that , thinking back , never did even as far back as the snes era .
Most of my gaming library consists of titles that weren't given many- if any 10/10. So what?
Right?! Is this article seriously attempting to address gamers who profess to only playing perfect 10/10 games?
What I got from the title is that if a game isn't a 10/10 it isn't even worth playing? Dafuq?
