In 2014, the biggest game launch for the year goes to Watch Dogs. Can Destiny dethrone it to become the new leader in terms of sales?
Haha. Is this a legit question?
Took the words right out of my mouth. I was looking for satire. I wonder if it will be sold on PS4 more times than mine craft by Dec. 31st? It's also legit to wonder how Cod will stack up. Could this be the 1st year in 5 or 6 in which Cod isn't the top seller?
Destiny, Assassin's Creed (both games), Far Cry 4, and Call of Duty all have the ability to beat Watch Dogs. 4 million in one week on 5 platforms is a great number that any dev would want. But the install base of the PS4 and XBO has grown since then (PS4 shot up), and chances are all these games will be great sellers.
I dont know COD actually looks decent this year.
Watch dogs imo was THE biggest let down I have ever had from a game, I may not even buy destiny but it will easily beat watch dogs.
I never played watchdogs but a huge let down in gaming for me was the gears 2 mp when it was buggy and the ending to Kane and lynch 2. Lol that left me puzzled.
The question isn't if it will but by how much will it beat it by
Looks like it...
I'm pretty sure it already has in pre-orders alone.
Um yes it will. It will also not be as disappointing as Watch Dogs either.
Does a bear shit in the woods? I'm not even actually going to do these guys the benefit of clicking on their lame story. I would say it's a fairly safe bet.
Watchdogs wasn't getting a lot of positive coverage upon launch, mainly cause the downgrade and ubisoft lying. So yeah, Destiny will beat it, by a lot I think.
I laughed at the title... We all know it's gonna be the biggest launch of the year. Hype train, toot toot.
A successful alpha and beta, good press, Bungie's promise of substantial support of the game, compelling multiplayer in both MMO and traditional FPS multiplayer, star power(Peter Dinklage, Peter Stormare, Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres and a bunch of voice acting royalty), amazing presentation, a huge universe to explore... This game is gonna BURY Watch_Dogs.
wheres the clickbait dude, these sites are just looking for hits, will destiny beat blablalbla, blalblalb
DESTINY is going to crush WATCH DOGS in sales . I think it will end up selling 15 to 18million before next summer.
Seeing how absolutely nothing was going on during summer and the fact that people are dying for new gaming experience, it could be possible.
Question is can it live up to the hype?
Probably. Most likely in fact.
Maybe but Destiny is online only, MP only and WD could be played on or offline and has a full single player mode. You would think Destiny has a narrower audience because of the live/PSN+ subscription paywall and MP requirements. It has more hype and advertising though so we will see.
PS+ is only needed for PS4 and if I remember right. You can still play it on PS4 without PS+ (just be limit to what modes can be played). So yeah, Destiny is going to beat Watch Dogs.
And Live is required for xbox which is also a subscription service. Those that don't subscribe due to a lack of enough interest in online MP games will not be able to complete Destiny. The devs themselves said you can only get so far, then you will be required eventually to go online and play with others to finish. While not a problem for many, I can see it not being for everyone. It probably will sell better though with all of the hype for it. That and there is no other big title coming out at this time.
Well it's a Friday night y'all. Everyone be safe.
I don't care if you hate destiny this game will break all game records
Lol ... what is this watchdogs you speak of?
Of course, and then that will be topped when Advanced Warfare drops.
Boggles my mind how you get disagrees for the truth.
People probably misunderstood (unlikely), or are that out of touch with the reality of the current market. Glad you have some sense, though!
Biggest Launch? Funny part is both games are crap.
