The release of the PS4 exclusive driving game Driveclub is quickly approaching, but there are still quite a few unknowns about the free PlayStation Plus edition. Game Director Paul Rustchynsky dispelled some doubts and gave more info.
im confused, does it not ship with weather?
I believe there is a day 1 patch to add weather
Incorrect. It's a post launch patch which is currently not dated.
So Heavy is wrong, so he gets disagrees. Abriel corrects him, gets disagrees. Logic.
KwietStorm brings logic. Gets disagrees?
Pretty next gen, huh?
Day one patches are so last gen. Current gen has post day one patches. The next Call of Duty won't be done until January, by which you'll receive no less than 32 patches. That's happened last gen too. Well, current gen there will be more of it.
Looks a great game, high hopes for this.
I cant imagine this game selling great considering everyone and their grandmothers are + users these days. My guess is this was originally supposed to be a launch day PS4 seller, removing free + option now would be a nightmare.
A lot of people will upgrade if it's as good as it looks!!!
Sony said only about 50% of PS4 purchasers go on to pay for PSN Plus. I don't understand what the other half do with the console to be honest though. Still, even if Sony only sold 40 million PS4s (and it likely will sell more than twice than or more), that's 1 billion in revenue a year from Plus alone.
I'm glad part of the game is free, it's been a weird dev cycle and allegedly there's no weather yet for plus. I want to inspect this weirdo to see if it's worth buying. I hope there's an optional mode in the game for people that want the online racers to stay closer together so if anyone crashes they'll be moved closer to the pack so they won't be bored for a long time. Some people enjoy passing etc more than just being perfect.
i would hold off pre-ordering this. people who have tried it are giving mixed messages, some negative. and with a brand new ip i'd wait until reviews hit to see how it turns out.
never been disapointed with evolution studio, aint gonna change with DC, and the fact that peoples who worked on PGR also work on DC is even more a bigger justification for me to buy it blindly. "people who have tried it are giving mixed messages, some negative." i couldnt care less about some bloggers who mostly arent even fan of racing game and usually do a piss poor job at playing them to beggin with... and not even talking about how some of them blatantly use sensationalistic bullshit only to get traffic on their blogs....oh i said blogs? oh.. i mean "gaming medias"...
I've seen so many youtube videos of supposedly journalists and bloggers playing it, and they seem to not understand what the breaks are for. Even worst when they talk trash about it showcasing horrible gameplay of their playthroughs. I myself can't wait to try it out.
Reviews??? U get to try it for free!!
really? well hell nothing to lose then. i got fooled when it said pre-orders.
Wow, I'm actually fairly surprised. Most of the impressions as of recently have been really positive, whether it be from major or midtier critics, people who've tried out the beta, or a lot of the people who've played it at the recent game events. I guess I've been missing some. I'm looking forward to picking it up.
Doesn't mean if DC is not open world won't have bunch of contents. This is a MUST read for all DC buyers ( and for those who downplay the game ). From here : http://m.neogaf.com/showpos... "Captured by PS4 share button: It's disabled for the beta, but I found a work around. ;) My previous upload to mega.co.nz that had screens and video were not bullshots. The screens were grabbed with PS Share Button, all while I was controlling the car, I just had the HUD turned off. - Image quality and AA is not an issue. This is playing the beta on a 50" Panasonic Plasma that has been calibrated (though I have sharpness up to 15). Aliasing is definitely visable, but it's not distracting and is barely noticeable while racing. - Gameplay really is fantastic. I've played a lot of racing games. From Burnout, PGR, Need For Speed series, Motorstorm, Gran Turismo, Forza (though not the Horizon series) and more. The car handling feels semi realistic, so a mix or realism and PGR style arcade, though I think it leans more towards realism. - Plenty of content/events/challenges. I'm not going into details on these, you'll have to wait until release. - Graphically it is the best racing game I've played (haven't played PC racing games). At first I didn't think it looked that great, but then you keep racing and it just hits you. It's stunning, and just feels so rich. The environments just feel like they've had so much attention and it really brings the races to life. I haven't really experienced this before, it's just very dense. Motion blur is really well implemented, it doesn't feel distracting at all. - Sound quality is obviously amazing. - There is no rubber banding. Though the AI does remind me of Motorstorm in how aggressive the other drivers can be. No mercy here." @Makkanchor Rushy has something say to you : http://i.imgur.com/18QgxDp....
Im starving for racing games I will buy it day one.
Why are all ps4 games getting downgraded im not happy:(
get used to the trend buddy.
Im not trolling i own a ps3 and a ps4 so far we dont have any decent games to play games that are actually made for ps4 that uses ps4 power there r none its a shame we are the 1s get trolled by these companys who show us how great there games look and before launch they downgrade
What downgrade???????? http://a.pomf.se/kspaac.gif http://i.minus.com/ibdEd2hD... http://a.pomf.se/avstli.gif http://i.minus.com/i7M6iLOF... http://i.minus.com/iqYkYtil...
Jack what i mean is most games on ps4 are not even using the power of ps4 as for drive club it looks brilliant but now they are saying there is no dynamic weather at launch
@mak The dynamic weather has always been known to be coming after launch , they gave never said it was coming day 1, the game has been tested by euro gamer and they have said the game has had nothing but massive improvement.
How does no dynamic weather at launch = a downgrade? It never even had weather when it was revealed.
I'm so curious how this game will turn out to be. Forza horizon seems more interesting, but we have just to wait and see
I am not a huge racer guy, but because we get to try it for free , the odds of me buying it go way up. If I don't like it in the end no loss, great marketing idea.
I will the free version if i like it i buy it later on. Fh2 day one for me, i get bored quick with close circuits racing games like Forza 5. People complain about downgrades, idt this will get that downgraded as Forza 5 did.
You forgot to ask him why last Fall he was saying the Plus version would be minus "a few cars and tracks".
