University's PlayStation Classroom has DualShock Desks

Kotaku writes:

This fall, Sangmyung University in Seoul, South Korea will begin teaching a course on PlayStation. Just check out the classroom.

According to Inven, Ruliweb, and GameFocus (via tipster Sang), the university teamed up with Sony for the course, which uses PS4 consoles and PS Vita handhelds as part of the curriculum. The weekly, three-credit class teaches students about the game industry. (Dev, Industry, Next-Gen, PS Vita, PS4, Tech)

Welcome to the massive failure that is the post secondary education system in English speaking countries. Want a degree? Sure, give us money to read this book. Want a job using what you learned? Ha that's funny, but I heard Macdonalds is hiring.

Lmmfao!

Wtf is right, looks like a fun course, though I doubt it's actually easy.

They will spend 5 mins talking about the Vita for the whole course.

On a serious note, this might attract young and soon to be devs to learn more about Sony, Playstation and how is it to develop a game and release it on their platform. They might be doing a course on programming or 3D animation so it might be a good way for them to secure and attract young talents. They'll be in direct contact with Playstation so that's huge imo.

This is in S. Korea and I'm 100% sure their students are in a much better place academically than here in the USA. The gaming industry is a major force in the entertainment world Why not start teaching students how to participate instead of just being a consumer?
