Otaku Dome: Nintendo And The Hardware Name Issue

Otaku Dome:

As announced over the weekend, Nintendo has released a successor to the Nintendo 3DS, while not an outright sequel to the previous hardware, this version has new tech including extra shoulder buttons and an heavily upgraded CPU just to name a couple. However the real issue with the new handheld is the fact that Nintendo has chosen to name the device “New Nintendo 3DS”, no 3DS 2, no 3DS 2.0, just a simple word that’s bound to cause confusion amongst younger gamers and the casuals. (3DS, Industry, Nintendo 3DS Tag Already Exists. Don't Use., Tech)
