AMD's gaming scientist Richard Huddy has told PCR the price of AMD's upcoming FreeSync gaming monitors will be around $80 to $100 cheaper than Nvidia's G-Sync models.
I look forward to the day when AMD holds a 50% share of both the CPU and GPU market. Nvidia and Intel need more competition in the worst possible way. I also dream of the day when Linux or any open source OS can break the lock Microsoft is using to hold back and price gouge the industry. Computing could be so much better than it is now...
Well said. Competition favors the consumer.
AMD needs to step it up first then, their CPUs get slaughtered by Intel in compute at similar wattages. Their GPUs are solid though.
I like Intel, but I still need to agree with you. The worst thing is, they sell you CPUs, made for overclocking... that somehow takes all the fun away...
Well that's kind of subjective. The truth is they sell CPU's that run at lower than max tolerance so the CPU's are much less likely to fail. Also not all CPU's can overclock the same, you could buy a 4 ghz processor that only overclocks to 4.1 ghz or you could get the same type of chip but be able to OC it to 5 ghz easily. The average chip would be in the middle.
