With the end of August coming news about the PS4 exclusive Deep Down were expected, and indeed Capcom delivered, releasing a fantastic gameplay video.
Amazing, 4 player split-screen, 1080p, 60fps and awesome graphics to boot. That is how we do nextgen people, fall in line.
No, the video says they've just split it to show the player's visuals match up. There is no split screen.
Ah- beat me to it.
Where in the video does it state that? The video is in Japanese and when it shows 4 players on screen at once it states 1P, 2P, 3P, 4P on each of the four screens.
@Bitby Of course the video is in Japanese, it's for the Japanese audience. You also didn't find it odd that there was writing during two player split screen section?
You said the video states they just split the screen when it doesn't. Further to this the 1P, 2P, 3P, 4P signifies there are 4 players playing at once. Did not find it odd they stated 1P and 2P in the two player section, why would it not? It signifies two people are playing at once doesn't it? Not getting where you are coming from?
@Bitby I think what's going on is that you and I don't speak Japanese, but others do and they say the video clarifies the split screen co-op.
I would call this a fantasy medieval simulator, it looks so damn realistic.
It looks great but I HATE the music.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but that isn't 4 player split screen.
that looks great! coop will be a blast with friends. and oh...I really hate chest monsters in any game. you come to the chest expecting for items and then BAAM..you're in a fight! them damn freaking tease LOL! Capcom has a great asset for their redemption here this early in the new generation and let's us all hope they won't mess it up with silly practices. fingers cross! they will be microtransactions given that it's F2P but I hope they don't overdo it to the point that it becomes a P2W (pay to win if any of you are wondering) model. I don't know if it's just me, but instead of F2P I would love for this to be a retail game with proper campaign that can be played offline or online like R&C All4One. that would be AWESOME!
Looks fun. Nice lighting, too. Just fix the silly JRPG-style music...it's wildly out of place given the style of the game (made in Japan, but clearly western-influenced mechanics and style). From Software got the music right with their games. Take note, Capcom. This isn't Final Fantasy CCXIII part 12.
Forget 1080p and 60 FPS in 4 player mode, wont happen.
@deSSy2724, why would the player count matter? That wasn't split-screen btw, just an illustration of what 4 people would see as they played together. I don't think in-game will have split screen.
looks pretty good but the FOV is kinda making me sick. it is way to close to the character for my liking. wonder if it is adjustable?
If next gen is all about 1080p and 60 frames then we aren't in for a good generation. There's more to games then that.
Just hoping for a beta announcement at TGS. Even if it's the announcement of the Japanese beta, that means we're all one step closer to playing it! (Plus, I'll attempt to get into it with my Japanese account.) Also, holy crap! The creature designs! The graphics! It's all superb!
It really does look amazing.
Yep, i love the graphics. My hype went down last weeks, and especially after postponed beta info, but after watching this movie, WOW. Looks dman impressive.
God this is torture, they keep releasing videos and videos and the beta keeps getting delayed and that's only for Japan. I really wish we get the beta in 2014 for America. EDIT: Dem Particles!
Dats some sexy lighting! Hai hai and beautiful fire effects hai!
Ok this is now one of my most anticipated games. Lost interest but after this, wow.
people can use multiplats to judge ps4s power, but i will continue to use exclusives as my example of ps4s power, i dont see pc or any other platforms toping ps4s exclusives
PC might especially by end of life but the games look great and you at least know how it will run on your individual system in every case. Art style has just as much to do with it, look at those damn particle and shading effects, it looks frickin mint.
PC will always outdo consoles provided you know your build and/ or can afford it. As of now though, multiplats are tricky, they're either held back being cross gen or aiming for parity (which gives rise to issues many hold for conspiracy.) However it should be common sense that any game performing better on Xbox is simply the dev/ pub giving desperate Xbox fans something to chew on.
outdue consoles in on paper specs not in the brainpower it took to make them thats the difference
While technically, yes, a PC can always be more powerful than a console, you're not always going to get games that utilize that power. My friend is rocking two Titans and a beast of a CPU. There's no way a game will fully utilize the capabilities of his rig for a long time. Sure, it has more power. But unless you're working for NASA, I'm not sure it's necessary right now. I'm running everything on Ultra with the PC I built earlier this year. Yet, you'd be hard pressed to find a game available for the PC (even running on Ultra) that looks as good as deep down or even The Order. Maybe Ryse? I need to see more of the PC version. It's all about utilizing the hardware. Star Citizen is the benchmark people talk about these days, but I just don't see it. It looks good, but I personally think there are better looking games out there.
I'm sure his point is along the lines of no PC game can topple a PS4 exclusive graphically when that said PC has the same/similar specs of the PS4.
I say the same thing also. PS4 exclusives just look amazing. No matter how much people say PC is better, I still don't get that wow factor like I do with PS4.
I figure it has most to do with the high production values of Sony games. Fine tuned visuals, good art style, ANIMATION(!), attention to little things that brings the game to life. I still think Kz2 looks pretty. it has awesome particles, physics and animation. its littered with little intricate details like crawling bugs, all kinds of debris , swinging lights, cloth that flaps/moves in the breeze, tin cans rolling around, partially destructible environments etc. At the time I had friends who were just as stunned as me. We had a hard time deciding which was prettier Kz2 or Crysis. It sort of comes down to preferences at that point but Crysis is technically the superior one but I could see why someone would think Kz2 is prettier it is a game that feels alive to me and everything is stitched well together to create a rich atmosphere, not as crisp and photorealistic but rich and immersive nonetheless. Kz2 was my fav fps last gen, I have yet to play Mercenaries but I hear it is really good. Also SF was quite good. Can't wait for more GG on the Ps4.
According to the to the pc fanboys GOD almighty built high end PC with his hands. The pc is so superior to the low console. But if you look at pc and current generation console. The game are close in graphics . In fact PC game are basicly the same games with the same graphics assets and slightly better preformance. 98-95% of PS4 games are in 1080P . 1080P is the highest quality HD at a affordable price. Pc fanboys want to point out that gamers are comparing PS4 and x1. But the difference is PS4 and x1 are competing products at the same price point . The Odrer 1886 are the best graphics on any game console or PC. Killzone SF , infamous second son , Ryse and Quantum break . All these games have great graphics on par or even better than most pc game. Even if a high end PC was 10x more powerful than a PS4 which its not. Game developers could not take advantage of the power. Because PCs are all different and Variates in power of GPU and CPU. Pc fanboys want in on the console wars. They want to compete with game consoles. But pc are completely different market than consoles. Pc and consoles are not in direct competition with each other. Pc and console are at different prices point. Pc and consoles are in totally different markets . Console is a mainstream mass market for AAA gaming. Pc is a small niche market for AAA gaming . I have high hopes for DeepDown . Just don't it like that it's free to play. I'm Just hoping that DeepDown gets a full retail version in North America and Europe. F2P is huge and very popular in Asia. F2P is not so popular with console gamers in North America and Europe.
Huh? Are you really trying to say this game looks better than anything on PC? It looks good, but not that good. I'd say it's about on par with something like Evolve.
