I like the Pirate Warrior games as well as the Red World game. However, the Naruto game does feel better produced, overall. The only thing I don't like about those Naruto games is that every battle is essentially the same.

These are the types of games that Sony should litter the PS3/PS4 & Vita with, as ALL types of Japanese style & made games can garner massive followings in the West.. Forget the millions of Mahjong & dating sims in our territories, BUT, those other unique masses of Japanese games would be welcomed, by old school gamers craving for those PSone, PS2 glory days, where these type of games were massive & spread thick, & varied... I mean, I'm not a JRPG fan, BUT, there is a MASSIVE fanbase in both Japan, & EVERYWHERE else in the world, so why in hell would we not want the machines riddled with them, to garner more sales, add to the install base, & ensure FAR more games in general from ALL developers & publishers...

I think a Japanese resurgence in game development is SO NEEDED, as there are obviously some awesome, unique, high quality western developed titles, BUT, why are we missing out on the other end of the spectrum in a massive way. I want more PLATFORMERS, developed by both western & eastern developers... I want more beat em'ups in vein of Double Dragon, Streets Of Rage, Final Fight.... Platformers like Ghouls'n'Ghosts in 3D, Maximo..
I really love my games, gaming, & am a massive Playstation gamer, due to some awesome, genre defining games they had going on in PS1 & PS2 games... Like where's Medievil 3, Blasto 2, The Getaway, The Mark Of Kri 2, Primal 2, Jak & Daxter 2, Onimusha 4, Tenchu, Tobal 3, Bushido Blade 3, Syphon Filter 4, Rise To Honor, just to mention a slight few.. Platformers, JRPG's & Japanese developed & styled games, arcade racers, are just a few of the best genres, that seem to have been given a massive wide berth throughout the PS3 era.. Apart from some HD remakes, & the awesome 3 PS3 developed Ratchet games, platformers have been all but forgotten... A shame & travesty considering the platformer saved & rebuilt the console business in the 80's.. There is an overwhelming abundance of 2D, half ar$ed d/l side scrolling platformers available for download, & some great, HD spruced up old titles, hell, there's even a few originals that stand out...BUT there's TOO damn many, how about some of these developers start giving us the next gen Ratchets, Jak & Daxters, Crash's, & start pumping out some new, innovative, awesome, true 3D, platforming action on our PS4's, PS3's, Vita's, Wii-U's, 360's & XBOne's??? I know I can't be the only one that is absolutely hanging for the next TRULY INNOVATIVE & triple A "deserving", proper 3D platformer (and please don't dare mention Mario 3D World, as it is not a 3D platformer, is not deserving of AAA status, & for me, is a disappointment, after the stellar, pinnacle of the series in Mario64....& even the inferior, but still awesome Galaxy series). BRING THESE GENRES BACK, & THE JAPANESE DEVELOPMENT REVOLUTION OUR CONSOLES NEED. Yelling over...

Mario world 3d is actually a true 3d platformer, thought i know where you are coming from. But that u can't change the camera perspective doesnt mean its not a 3d platformer. I don't know why you don't consider Mario 3d world an AAA game, because it for sure is.

To be honest there are quite a lot of good platformers, but most of them are indie/not aaa. I also wish they would make some good AAA platformers again where you have total freedom. Nowadays there are no pure platformers, they are often mixed with hack n slash or rpg.

People are so focussed on their rpg/shooter/and upcoming horror/survival that no love is given to platformers :(

But you should really check out some indie games, there are a lot cool platformers in there (though i can't name any atm)
