Whatever happened to the glory days of hardcore grinding, seemingly impossible boss fights, platforming sections that crippled you with impasses? games™ reflects on the strange state of the inverted difficulty curve.
I, for one, am thankful for that. You guys that love to be punished and tear your hair out every time you play a game will disagree, but I have enough stress in my daily life. I don't need more when I'm just trying to relax and play a game. I just want to be entertained. Side note: XBLA Platformer Lumi was one of the hardest games that I've ever beaten (and one of the prettiest). The chase and boss fights really tested my patience with the utmost precision required to succeed.
