Rise of the Tomb Raider comes out next year, and their are 4 issues it absolutely needs to address so that the game can continue to revitalize the Tomb Raider franchise.
I am not too worried about the story because they have always been good, (in some cases grwat) I agree though would love bigger tombs/world. and Really looking forward to it, can't think of many reboots that have actually succeeded (past the first title) so hoping that the quality from the last game continues here. Also, I really hope it goes back to the Indian tropics setting, it gave a real sense of danger and beauty. Plus, the tiger fights were epic.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I really loved the direction of the reboot. I'm certain CD will build upon that. The partnership with MS should also allow more funding for the games various assets.I.e richer worlds,a deeper&more elaborate storyline, richer graphics&great gameplay to go with etc ..i'm sure CD will deliver the goods. Just as you said i would love to see lara take on tigers&other wild animals too.The original TR on PS one had those&i really loved taking those big cats down.
Rise is pretty much a guaranteed Day one buy for me. People don't like to look at Third party partnerships as a good idea. But when a publisher like Square Enix is questioning if the games will even sell when the reboot was a massive money sink for them. It's not a stretch for them to seek external funding. I love third party publisher partnerships. Nintendo and Namco Bandai partnering. Microsoft and EA/Square Enix partnering. Sony and Konami partnering. (Used to have a strong relationship with Square Enix) Back in the PS1 vs Dreamcast days...All those Third party exclusives was encouraged. OT: Hopefully they take a few assets from previous Tomb Raider games while still keeping that Hardcore feel they want to push with the franchise now.
Spot on. These type of partnerships definitly give the developers more freedom and a lot more resources to work with. I believe Rise of TR will be a great game. Can't wait till the gameplay reveal.
I posted this in another article.
“One thing im certain about though is the fact that MS will be giving CD the type of funding they need to make this game the best it can be. CD will be given the same assistance which sony, nintendo and ms would only usually give to their top 1st party studios and as a result the game will definitly benefit from it.”
That investment should only happen if they keep it as along time exclusive. If not then I vest as very little.
Dinasours and a butler... and more tombs obviously .
But this Lara Croft HATES tombs!
Doubt she hates them in the second game, isn't the new one about her embracing the 'tomb raider'. As in...she now adores tombs and all the evil critters around them? Shame i'll miss this title, I hope it comes to PC eventually or Ps4.(Is it timed or full exclusive??) Anyhow, the first one had the best Tps Adventure gameplay i've ever played. Well, either that or the last of us.
More platforms to play the game on? :P
And for people to stop crying over it.
It needs to be on PS4 cause after playing the Definitive edition, I am hooked in this franchise. I cant fathom the fact that I'll have to wait months after it gets released unless I get an xbone :(
The reboot was amazing, from a gameplay perspective. Really loved the combat. The story was a bit lacking though. It started out strong, but the second half of the game the story kind of fell apart. And as well as they developed Lara, I didn't really feel very attached to the side characters. My recommendation would be to introduce a side character that becomes part of the franchise. Maybe a character like Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. But maybe not as annoying as Short Round haha and more someone we care about.
This. Side characters must be good.
Her old body back. Should be number one.
Her new body is more believable and realistic. Her tits aren't completely flat. They're a serviceable size and the new Lara Croft model is the most attractive version of Lara Croft, looking less like a video game character and more like a real human being making it easier to have whatever fantasies you may want.
THIS. THIS so much. her old 32-bit 80 polygon body was way juicier and sexier than this new skinny anorexic british ho that theyve made her into after that uncharted ripoff.
I'm buying this game for the X1 just to support it.
Expansive tombs, and more of them. I thought the story behind the reboot was good. The real meat of it was introduced way too late, and then [they] just disappeared....? There is no reason to think the story for Rise will not be good given the success of the reboot. And SE does not need to dump a ton of cash in advertising like they did last time. Thinking that was a factor in their "losses". Looking forward to this come 2016!
Underwater elements/diving etc...just like the originals...;)
