Kotaku: Frankenreview Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns Of The Patriots

Kotaku writes: "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is finally upon us. The game that launched a million PlayStation 3 consoles has reached the eager hands of gamers and reviewers all over the worlds. Solid Snake's swan song, Kojima's masterpiece...call it what you will, there's no doubt that MGS 4 is one of the most important titles in the PS3's short history, and will set the bar for action adventure games on the console for years to come.

Now, as millions of gamers all over the world immerse themselves in Snake's final adventures, we take a look at how the game fared in the hands of the reviewing public.

When it comes right down to it, none of these reviews will effect game sales whatsoever." (Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, PS3) -

I have to admit: Kotaku are low class fanboys. This game has gotten 10/10 from IGN, Gamespot, Gamepro, Game Informer and many more and they use the two lowest scores from the most biased magazines around in their "Frankenreview"

funny, they jump on any ps3 game that gets negative reviews, but when a masterpiece like MGS4 comes out to great reviews? they say reviews will not affect game sales. what is kotakus' problem with the ps3?

MGS 4 is great, but I sit there sometimes thinking "WTF" when they start rambling about the "SYSTEM" and "nano" technology.

Sometimes I find myself wanting to press start to forward the progress but I am afraid I might miss a plot point.

I'm a believer
I've never been a big fan of the MG series, I only played MGS2 about halfway through, and never had much interest thereafter.

That said, I bought MGS4 yesterday, played for about four hours, and was utterly amazed. I don't fully understand all the details of the backstory, but the game seems to try and fill in some of the blanks. I'm starting to understand what this series is all about. The cutscenes are great, graphics superb, weapons are slick and realistic, I could go on and on.
I can tell you that as soon as I get home from work, I'm playing it til the wee hours of the morning.

This is easily the best game to hit the PS3 so far. Congrats Hideo Kojima and Konami for creating a masterpiece of electronic art.

Heh, I love kotaku's 'non-biased' selection of the reviews

I Doubt if Kotaku Hates Sony ...............but,
There is little doubt that this reviewer is not impressed with the game .
This is democracy ( also a concept ) so everyone has their voice . good or Bad .....right or Wrong.
