Games That Made Us Cry

GodisaGeek: "We at Godisageek like to think we’re tough, that we can handle the odd emotional knock and keep on going. But the truth is, we’re all big softies, really – and games are just as capable of reducing us to quivering wrecks as any other medium. This week on Staff Picks, we had a look back at the games that have hit us nice and hard in the feels, and then we’ve opened up to you about it, like in therapy.

Warning: this will contain spoilers and manly confessions. Bring the tissues."

The Last of Us made me cry... And I ain't ashamed of saying so.

isa_scout1241d ago

Apparently there's a lot of heartless people in this comment section. I 100% agree with you. Maybe it's having kids that made that scene so gut wrenching for me.

Bobby Kotex1241d ago

You're not heartless because a video game doesn't make you cry. Not everyone is living in a bubble.

isa_scout1241d ago

@ Bobby Kotex
I fail to see how the term, "living in a bubble" applies. I'm afraid you don't understand how to properly use the phrase. If becoming emotionally attached to a scene in a video game is taboo then someone forgot to tell me and millions of other players that have described the same feeling while playing TLOU. If other players feel the same way as R0n0rve and I then its one very big ass bubble.

While these didn't make me cry they did make me very emotional.

-Dom's wife in Gears of War 2
-The end of TLOU
-The end of Half-Life 2: Episode 2

edit And how could I forget The Walking Dead Season 1 & 2. Any episode pretty much lol.

FITgamer1241d ago

TLOU was emotional rollercoaster, but not enough to make me cry. I think Telltales TWD, more specifically the last episode of season 1, got to me more.

TongkatAli1241d ago

Nah bro, fanboys, they can't stand that game, their use to playing their irrelevant games with laughable storylines, no voice acting and boring gameplay.

Pay no mind.

I don't think there's ever been a game to make me cry, but I have felt the pain of some characters.

TLoU is one example.

But the first game I can remember that really hurt me emotionally was Eternal Champion on Sega. I know it sounds crazy, but I was a little kid who grew up on Saturday morning cartoons like X-Men, Spider-man, Pokemon, and even Power Rangers. So I was use to the good guys always winning.

Then I played this game, and read all the awful ways these people were killed, and then had to fight to the death for a second chance just broke my little heart. I played it, enjoyed it, beat it without "finishing anyone", and never played it again.

Just read it.

God of War: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. When kratos has to choose between staying with his daughter or saving her from perishing. And when the god of death kills his brother.
Those two parts gave me a knot in my throat and watery eyes. Poor kratos :/

TongkatAli1241d ago

Yeah, the psp games had better stories then the console God Of Wars.

TheFallenAngel1241d ago

Yea they did. Both psp games were amazing.

Elda1241d ago
