Insights Into Planning an Indie Game Kickstarter Campaign – Interview with the Hive Jump Team

Today Graphite Lab gave me the pleasure to ask the team some questions regarding their latest Kickstarter campaign for Hive Jump. I would describe the game as a combination between Contra and Starship Troopers. In the game you’ll get dropped into an alien hive where your objective is to blast your way through hordes of alien bugs to find the queen and take her out. Aside from the game looking incredibly fun, I’ve found the Kickstarter campaign to be quite aggressive with goals and rewards spanning various social media platforms on top of the base Kickstarter stretch goals and backer rewards which leads me into my first question. (3DS, Android, Hive Jump, Industry, iPad, iPhone, PC, PS4, Wii U, Xbox One)

Oh snaps, Hive Jump looks really good. I need to add this game to my radar.

I'm also loving all these Kickstarters that include the Wii U as a mandatory release and not a stretch goal. The outpouring of support for Nintendo seems to be infectious in the core communities.

It's one of those indie games that really deserves promotion.
I wish that a big-name website would put it up and get some attention for it so that Wii U owners will be put on notice and give it more sales, because it's looking like a title that deserves the support.

Man, I'm so hyped for this game!! Beautiful graphics, great gameplay, co-op... anything left? Also, the Wii U initial goal sounds too good for me (although I could simply buy it for PC, I value couch co-op too much). Let's hope these guys make it.
