According to a new report from retailer Tsutaya, Hyrule Warriors has been selling quite well in Japan, affecting both overall software and hardware sales for the Wii U.
Nice! WII U = best console sales 2014 japan.
That's awesome news. After from what people have been posting online it's an incredible game. I really wish Nintendo would give us a demo or at least an English trailer!!! Still september 26th can't come soon enough!
september 26th can't come soon enough! '' Too bad this is long way off...
They still won't tell us how to get the art book either. Argh! The wait is killing me! XD
Wii Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu............. .
So that's 4 sold! Wooo... No really, great news. I love Nintendo, massive respect to a gaming "business" who still show passion to its fans, and not conforming to static trends like everybody else or trying to digitise you by essentially turning your money into their digital stock which is essentially nothing if things go to shit in the future. Wii u is my firm second console for this gen, for its exclusives. Second to ps4, the Xbox one is just there.... may be tempted by quantum break however.
I knew this game had potential.
I'm very confident this game will bridge fans of both IP's and gained increased sales because of it. If you don't care for Zelda much but always get Dynasty Warriors I see you buying or heavily considering to buy it, and if you're like me who likes the Zelda series but isn't turned on to Dynasty Warrior you are also thinking about getting it.
doesnt matter, wont save the wii u
Well excuse me, princess!
You won N4G for the day!
agree and bubble up
Somebody's find that damn gif for this. Lol
Yet the Wii U still sells just as much software as the PS4 and more than the Xbox One. AND the Wii U has been outselling the Xbox One for quite some time now. You can talk about saving junk and all that, but when it comes to playing games...the Wii U has already been saved. Hyrule Warriors is an amazing experience. And Bayonetta 2 is going to rock.
Yet you ignore the fact that the WiiU has been out for much longer than the X1 which won't be for long with the upcoming holidays and games ;)
actually LOL_WUT, the Wii U will have always been out for much longer regardless of the holidays.. ;)
Lolwut he meant on a weekly basis, so spin harder
I don't think the Wii U has sold 30 million units of software, but if I'm wrong someone please correct me
@BiggerBoss You're right actually. The Wii U has sold over 30 million units of software.
Dang, my bad you're actually right. 32 million as of April this year
That's really good news. Congrats Nintendo on a successful launch in Japan!
that's awesome to hear! I'm hoping it receives some acknowledgment when it comes out over here.
Awesome, but I'm still curious about how many Wii U units it moved.
Probaly around 20 k units. Still good numbers though.
If Hyrule Warriors can get Wii U to sell over 20k units, then it will have performed better than Mario Kart 8 did as far as peak weekly Japanese hardware sales go. Nintendo didn't even consider Hyrule Warriors as a flagship release ,so it will be interesting to see if it can do more for Japan than Mario Kart 8 did. Strangely, I think it may do it.
I think because the game appeals to an audience outside of nintendo fans it'll outsell MK8's boost. Same with Bayonetta 2 and Xenoblade. Mario kart 8 will no doubt help for the holidays though.
I always wanted to try a dynasty warriors game, but never was interested enough to own one, this is just grabbed my interest...
"Four times" almost nothing, is still almost nothing.
