CD Projekt RED has just released the promised extended gameplay video for The Witcher 3. This new gameplay video is 35 minutes long and shows what gamers can expect from this highly anticipated RPG.
Looks amazing. I've never played any of the games before. Is it recommended to read all the books and play the previous games before this one?
Yes, I really recommend to read all seven books and the games, it will change how you see the game after reading them, you will really be sucked into the story, if you can do it then prepare yourself for a great new world to go.
Thanks. I guess I'd better start now.
It's eight books for a few months now:-)
Yep. Amazing games. Amazing books. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is my most anticipated game. Simply can't wait.
Technically you don't "need" to read the books as Geralt has amnesia from the start. Its certainly recommended as they are good and there are references to the books, but they aren't a requirement. I'd say playing the first game is much more important. Also, there are currently 3 out of 5 books in the main saga translated in to English(maybe the UK has them all?) plus The Last Wish. 1. The Last Wish (collection of shorts/not part of saga) 2. Blood of Elves 3. Times of Contempt 4. Baptism of Fire + 2 more that aren't translated yet, as far as I know. That's just the main saga. I had read somewhere there was versions translated for the UK but wasn't able to confirm that.
Refuse to watch this, how bad are the spoilers in this video?
It's basically the same mission that they showcased at the gameplay teaser, only this time it's extended
It´s 35 minutes of spoilers of over 100 hours of game,i can live with that. =) i freaking adore this franchise.
Im concerned about every gameplay video of this game being so choppy. Im a huge fan but damn that choppiness.
I wouldn't be worry about it now. If you see same choppiness in final game videos then it is time to get worried.
It releases in 2015. Still long way to go. Game is finished, now they're just adding final touches and optimizing it so we might see some minor loss of detail but for sure much better framerate. The issue in this demo is probably with the video encoding itself.
"The issue in this demo is probably with the video encoding itself." i really hope so...framerate choppiness is very distracting.
That's what I was thinking. Whenever I see a video of this on Youtube and the like, it's pretty choppy. But I would recommend downloading some direct-feed gameplay from gamersyde or something if you want to see what the game truly looks like. No choppiness in those, and I can say without a doubt that this is one of the best looking games I've ever seen.
well you can always download the full quality video instead and see that its alot smoother. tho its 5.22GB http://www.gamersyde.com/ne...
This does look great. I've never played any of the other game before either. I might have to pick this one up.
i cannot wait for this game. ive seen these same sequences chopped up, but seeing how they all connect is awesome.
I used to be a JRPG lover I was always waiting for the next Final Fantasy and next Kigdom Hearts with anticipation. Last year I bought Witcher 1 for my pc I played I loved it. Last week I completed Witcher 2 and it blew my mind. You know what Jrpg´s can go to hell for me. I just need the Witcher 3 to die in peace.
To be fair, not all JRPGs play like FF and Kingdom Hearts. Just look at the Souls series.
Both western and Japanese RPGs can coexist in harmony though! I wouldn't like the world as much if it didn't have the likes of Persona or Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts. Same with Elder Scrolls and Deus Ex and Fallout. RPGs of any kind are okay with me :)
Hoooly mollllyyyyy, biggest news this day by far !!!
Hoooly mollllyyyyy, biggest news this day by far !
Amazing is all I can say, though the frame rate was a bit irritating. No worries, I have faith in them to optimize this well enough.
amazing you can actually see ships coming and going in the harbor and even board them :)
Saw Demo Expected Demo, Got video... *sad*
The music is superb. Best I have heard in a while in a game. But I do hope there is much variation as one goes into battle. After 60 hours even the best slavic tunes and chants will get boring.
I'm still not tired of the Skyrim soundtrack after..... around 500 hours. lol
Maybe you're right. I really enjoyed Skyrim. After playing Witcher 1 and 2 witnessing excellence in an RPG game I really shouldn't bitch what CDPR wants to do :D
what no poop animation? guess im gonna have to play metal gear for that
GOTY easily, it will be considered robbery if this does not win.
