The important role of lateral thinking in video games

Game development is an exercise in lateral thinking. Everything from game design to actual gameplay requires thinking out of the box. Here are some great examples. (Culture, Dev, Dishonored, PC, PS3, PS4, Q.U.B.E. Director's Cut, Xbox 360)

Interesting read. For me the best example is Portal. I don't think there will be a series that will press the player to think outside the box as much as Portal.
