Pokemon MMO on Wii U pls.

jackanderson19851191d ago

I'd say that alone would excel the Wii U to massive numbers... hell just a decent pokemon game would doesn't even need to be an MMO

iamnsuperman1191d ago (Edited 1191d ago )

It would also kill their handheld. There is a reason why Nintendo have not made a console pokémon game similar to what we get on handheld. What is the point of buying a handheld pokémon with a similar pokémon on a Nintendo home consoles

jackanderson19851191d ago

meh I dunno about that, a solitary game on the home consoles is unlikely to detract from the success that is Nintendo's handhelds.... an RPGish type game on the Wii U as a once off to bolster sales would be massive

or they could do a rota with the games 1 year on handheld, one year on wii u with a gap year between them

SirBradders1191d ago

@ Iamsuperman, you have a valid point but they could always link the two.

ShinMaster1191d ago (Edited 1191d ago )

I can see how it would affect their handheld business. Pokemon is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, attractions on their handhelds.
And if they were to make a Pokemon RPG like the handheld games but with better graphics and maybe more features, then I definitely see myself buying the game on Wii U instead of the 3DS.

@iamsuperman

It wouldn't hurt their handheld...If anything it would help it, especially if Nintendo made the title interoperable with the handheld games in some way.

Do you forget that consoles can only be played at home... the thing about mobile devices is that people play them on the go!a console pokemon game doesn't fill that void.

Chrischi19881191d ago

Did handheld Mario or Zelda ever get hurt from its home console counterparts? I dont think so. As long as they make them special in their own way, I dont see any problems.

If Nintendo makes a pokemon wiiu I'ma be forced to buy a wiiu

Wishful thinking but apparently they don't want to print money so they will never do it.

TekoIie1191d ago (Edited 1191d ago )

Pokken Fighters?

Or maybe that Pikachu game they were talking about a while back.

Ck1x1191d ago

This is my guess as well. It says shocking pokemon project, so I'm sure it will work in tandem with Pokemon X/Y and ORAS with training and importing in and out of the game.

Aratax1191d ago

I hope they confirm Cranky Kong for the new pokemon game.

Trolltroll1191d ago

You sir made my day. But you now have me worried...

C_Ali881191d ago

No it wouldn't kill their handheld, saying it would is ridiculous. Games that are ported from consoles to handhelds and vice versa. The console versions offering a more fleshed out experience while the convenience of a portable allows you to play anywhere!! Nintendo and Sony have been doing this for years and it in no way stimies sales, it could be said with the right form of connectivity between console and handheld it could bring an unparalleled experience to consumers.

Just look at Zelda U, make a pokemon game open world with dynamic environs, full hd pokemon models and a few other bells and whistles a handheld couldn't provide and you have yourself a game that will literally fly off shelves!

randomass1711191d ago

Mario Kart 7 and 8 both sold quite a lot, so I agree that they don't cancel each other out. Same with PSP and PS3. The games did not cancel each other out and they probably won't start now.

Mikefizzled1191d ago

Its the iPad trading card game? They spoke about this at a recent board meeting.

No gamefreak is not making the tcg... This is a different announcement as the cats outta the bag already on Pokemon TCG...
