Phil Fish gets a lot of gamers angry...again. The main difference this time is that he makes a valid point.
Something about this guy seems fishy, someone should phil me on onto why I should care about him.
"caring about videogames is my CURSE because you people are involved and ruining everything." ..... If he thinks this low of games and gamers in general, why doesn't he return the money he earned? ...oh that's right because he's a hypocrite
And how exactly are people who played the game going to give him the experience they got from the game back? Lets be rational please.
I don't know. I find him entertaining. That doesn't mean I agree with him, I just find him entertaining. Like sitting in a cafe and watching the crazy people on the street sort of entertaining.
Lol bubble up for funny :) ..
Phil Fish shouldn't be allowed to use the internet
phil fish should think about what he says and reflect on himself rather than people he does not know. i can't think of a person (not company^^) with lesser empathy for his consumers.
I got to say, I read the article and it really feels like the author is going out of their way to say Phil is trying to do good and basically reading into messages with their own bias to see messages that probably don't exist. For one thing, I don't think a lot of people view gamers as their own culture (most view it as part of the nerd sub-culture thing, but this is really all besides the point) and I do think the person Fish was quoting was trying to get to idea across that some people associate X with Y and judge people because of that association. For instance, you could be a guy and love watching Romantic Comedies* and some people might find that effeminate. The only difference is that the term "gamer" was probably meant as a general term to refer to a group that enjoys games in the same vein as say moviegoers or bibliophile. With that being said, I've moved past the point where I think Fish has a point and simply does this because of personal problems or simply wants to feel important, which is what these articles ultimately do. I mean, if we really need someone to pull out their Fish to English dictionary just to bring out the subtile nuances in his ramblings, then there is probably a good chance theres nothing was nothing there in the first place. * Please do not argue about the example I gave. I tried to keep it simple and inoffensive.
The gaming industry is indeed being held back by the adolescent whiny babies that still plague the 'gaming community', the trouble is Phil Fish is pretty much the perfect example of this kind of whiny surly childish douche. If he wants things to change he ought to try leading by example rather than whining that everyone else is so stoopid like every second comment on this site.
"The gaming industry is indeed being held back by the adolescent whiny babies that still plague the 'gaming community', the trouble is Phil Fish is pretty much the perfect example of this kind of whiny surly childish douche." Exactly.
Phil Fish is one angry man...
I dont which articles are worse on n4g? Phil Fish or Imaginary Racism/Discrimination
"The main difference this time is that he makes a valid point." Where does he make a valid point? All he does is throw insults (ones a 12 year old would use btw) at a bunch of trolls.
It's about most gamers being manchidren (Or Womenchildren,) which they are, the ones that sulk (Like kids) if something doesn't go their way (Tomb Raider, resolution ETC) Whoever acts like that should be labelled "Bad Gamers." This website is chock full of Bad Gamers. The "Manchildren" thing is reinforced by the fact that the majority of gamers are the ages of 13 - 25, that is a bad age to have an opinion, to be confused about most things and to want to fix the problems all yourself. Fish represents a problem and the rebellious age along with the internet makes Gamers try to fix that problem, to fix Phil Fish. They can't and then it turns into a storm on N4G, where the Gamers exact their virtual revenge that isn't actually revenge just to feel better.
Hate being banned or having comment deleted just wish N4G would allow us to speak our minds about this dude without repercussions just for one day. The Vocabulary and vulgarity I would unleash would be cringe worthy.
I'm all for freedom of speech, and you SHOULD always voice your opinions. However the main issue is, and I'm sure you know this, is that kids undoubtedly visit this website. There is so much trash that they are exposed to whether it be tv wherever. Here we have the ability, which give us the responsibility, to show some class and set a good example. If not us, then who? Remember, Captain Planet says "The Power is yours!" ;)
I feel like he really enjoyed the spotlight from making FEZ, to its release & then finally it's success. He easily shows it with how he always goes about FEZ 2 being canceled and putting it back on, as if the gaming world needs the sequel. I honestly don't even follow up on the guy like that and I already regret my purchase on buying FEZ. I wish I can get a refund and remove it from my account completely. I'm definitely not buying a game from this guy ever again. If he doesn't like what he's doing then by all means he should find something else to do.
hes absolutely right...all he has to do is log on to this site and see the hate lol
Shush ya mad bastard.
with a name like Phil Fish, id be mad too
Oh no, women aren't allowed to be criticized I must be the white knight, maybe then I'll get some right? Right?
You gotta love Phil fish for being honest. He really does let gamers know how he feels about them;-)
He deserves so much vitriol. All I've ever seen him do is whine and complain and how stupid gamers are and loves peacocking about how incredibly talented he is and it just gets old and boring. Phil, if you REALLY hate all the people who made you a ton of money then just stop talking. Pack up your bags, sell your office, get off the internet and stop tweeting about how much you hate gamers (while still offering games to sell). Fez was okay but if I knew who Phil actually was, I wouldn't have bought it. I hate rewarding that kind of baby tantrum behavior. That's just me, though, I can't stand bullies and ego-driven punks.
