Feature: HD Remasters That Would Be Perfect for Wii U

Thomas Whitehead - In a turn of events that shouldn't surprise any followers of Nintendo, an anonymous source of reasonable repute has recently been quoted as stating that a big-name HD remaster is on the way to Wii U in 2015. We'd suggest this isn't too far off from saying something rather obvious such as "Nintendo is making games that haven't been announced yet", such is the business logic that makes HD re-releases / remasters a likelihood. They can, given the right material, represent an easy win for the company.

It's perhaps remarkable that we've had so few of these HD titles to date. The success-story and only prominent example is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD; as of the most recent formal update from Nintendo, it had sold 1.22 million copies up to 31st March this year. (GameCube, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Wii, Wii U)

Wouldn't an HD remaster collection be better? More games for the price of one like with the PS3 collections and the Master Chief Collection. If Wii U has more remasters I hope they are part of a collection like a 3D Mario remaster collection. That would be awesome.

A collection like the old Mario All-Stars would be cool; both Galaxy games, Sunshine, SM64, maybe also SM3DW for good measure.

Okami collection which includes Okamiden would be amazing. Give options for standard, motion, or gamepad controls, but actually advertise how the gamepad would make it better.

I'd also like to see HD remakes of 2D games, e.g. Chrono Trigger in 1080p with the same art, along the lines of Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

Zelda & Metroid etc are all obvious as well. Maybe Xenoblade when the sequel comes out - I can't believe I played that whole game with the wiimote/nunchuck setup.

Give me goldeneye, perfect dark, conkers bad fur day, Mario 64, starfox and banjo kazooie and I'll be happy.

As great as that would be, never gonna happen unless Nintendo can get the rights back to Rare titles.

I'd prefer a complete graphics remake rather than hd remaster though, they look much better.

No remasters.

I rather have a FULL Remake to ground up.

Skies of Arcadia that would be nice Sega.

from Nintendo
Endless Ocean
Sin & Punishment
Disaster Day of Crisis
1080 Avalanche

I want Super Mario Galaxy HD, but at the same time I don't. If I can only get one though, I'd go for Metroid.
