IGN - We show you nine minutes of the Gamescom 2014 gameplay demo for The Order: 1886.
I wonder if those will be the new playstation platinum headset he is wearing.
I just bought the Gold Headsets a few days ago. And the Golds look cooler than those to me.
soooo....what's up i just saw a dude with a hair that looked like was shocked by electricity looking at the camera for 9 minutes where is the direct feed The Order 1886 9 minutes gameplay ?
It's a thrustmaster headset. See: http://www.thrustmaster.com...
Why is there black bars on the top and bottom, did they not get the aspect ratio correct or something in the demo
1920x800 or something like that. They said they want it to FEEL CINEMATIC????
Makes it more cinematic :) House of Cards on Netflix does it too. Or beyond: Two Souls. I find it weird how he is wearing a headset, and yet we are hearing the sounds of the game :p
The cinematic effect works: http://www.joystiq.com/2014... But then again you were not actually looking for an answer. PC Master race proclaimers like yourself come into console threads with such remarks all of the time. Your post history is a compendium of such actions. But as the article from joystiq demonstrates, (and joystiq is far more knowledgeable than you), the aspect ratio selection actually works. Your poor attempt at trolling has backfired.
Attempt to keep up the FPS. They used the 'cinematic' excuse for it like ND and their 30FPS. Until of course the Ps4 hit and ND admitted 60FPS was vastly superior in every way. Anytime a dev can't reach something they use some type of excuse, Cinematic is the most retarded one. Although I guess it's better than outright lying like GG about Shadowfall. This games looks 'eh' anyhow. It looks like ALOT like Gears but with slightly interactive cutscenes and good graphics. Time will tell if they manage to make a decent campaign but Gears rode on it's multiplayer for a reason. The gameplay style just wasn't great for single player imo.
@ Irishguy You are one to follow speculation as fact and that's about as far as it gets. Killzone: Shadow Fall renders at a native 1080p. It uses temporal reprojection to achieve that. The only ones clinging on to it as a "lie" are those with an agenda or those who believe what is reported to then without fact-checking it themselves.
Game is looking pretty solid now. Graphics are amazing, setting and story seems good, weapons look great, and gameplay is looking better. Off topic: This is the worst video ever . IGN sucks so bad. The camera angle is horrible with a huge glare on the screen. Destin Lagarie looks down at his phone non stop then keeps looking into the camera. So annoying! He don't even act interested in the game at all.
I know right! Felt like I was to close to his personal space and wanted me to back off with the way he kept looking at me. lol
Took him a while to figure out how to use the weapon right -_- can't spell ignorant without IGN
Im excited with all these new i.p.s The possibilities it opens up for a PS all stars 2. Tons of new characters...Delsin, Lucas, Nikolas Tesla, Bloodborne character, hellblade character, etc...I know I'm missing more.
Looks great and it seems to play similar to The Last Of Us, looking forward to this :)
Seems like the same engine. Ready at Dawn not use to making shooters.
Totally off topic, but I like your new avatar. Im really looking forward to the Browns and Cavs seasons this year. On topic: Outside of the graphics being on another level, there is just something "familiar" about The Order. Might be the gameplay, the engine or both.
I kinda see that in the movement as well. Or it might just be that TLOU is the game that's in my brain right now.
- Cool particle effects - boring 1 color palette (please no one talk BS that it's art style choice, everyone on n4g b!tched Gears of War 1/2 for having no colors but with The Order it's awesome) - awful AI like in COD.. i mean 3:30 when he drags the guy...wtf - linearity (every time I see The Order video everything happens in exactly same way, enemies do same things all over again, zero simulation) - cool weapons - no MP - annoying black bars (cinematic feel my @ass) Why all the hype for this game? It's as mediacore as it gets. Do you guys really feel like it's the game you can play for few months?
Have a seat!
They see me trollin.
Hrmm I'm glad I held off on buying the gold, depending on performance I may just pick up a pair of those.
So f'n stoked for this. Playstation has been showing some damn incredible goods this week. Going to be an amazing generation for PS4.
It's too tight and limited which is bad .
then take your tight suit off ,Batman
That will require some http://www.buy-pharma.com/i...
Graphics look amazing but I haven't been too impressed by the gameplay that has been shown. Seems too linear. If the areas widened up a bit Id like it much more. Also not the biggest fan of the cinematic widescreen but I am sure those who play it will get used to it really fast. Still a while till the game comes out so still plenty of time for me to be impressed.
Yeah my only complaints so far are that it seems super linear and I'm not sure if it's the cover system or the way the character moves? But something seems slightly off about it. It does look great and seems like the story will be good. I'm a sucker for a good story. Day 1 for me no doubt.
If the new trailer is anything to go by, we'll see a lot different spacious locations with shootouts, hand to hand combat, stealth, exploration and a bit of detective work. Check it out
Too bad linearity has become a bad thing this generation. I personally love games like uncharted 2 or the last of us.i'm really looking forward to this game it's actually one of the reason why I'll be getting a ps4.
Exactly, every game has to be an open world or open environment anymore. I love more linear games too!
The supposedly educated media decided that "linear" was bad and so people who wanted to sound educated began saying the same things. The very best stories in the history of mankind were all "linear", lol
The thing is that It doesn't have the freedom of those games you just mentioned there, it looks a lot more linear.
I think linearity is bad when the game is scripted, short, and generic like Uncharted. Half Life was linear too, but that game was long and had such variety in scenery. Uncharted has nice graphics and locations but there is no exploration. All the "hidden" treasures are pretty much on the path that you're going on and the scripted events make it even worse. I just hope the order is long like Tomb Raider and there are new weapons or enemies in each difficulty like Ninja Gaiden.
Cant wait til February for this game it's gonna be epic
Yeah this game still hasnt impressed me. Its obviously not the graphics but the games gameplay seems eh.
Nice stealth troll.
This dude stealth trolls a lot.
its a valid opinion. cant tell me that gameplay was exciting
It's a fact. This game is not that interesting anymore. Another watchdogs!?
@mrpsychoticstalker: "It's a fact. This game is not that interesting anymore." no, that's an opinion. and an opinion of someone who not only had no interest in this game to begin with, you also don't own a PS4, so....
Its time for a new troll account, dont you think?
Not enough 'being on Xbox' for your taste, I suppose. Sooooo many 1-2 bubble trolls in this comment section....
People say they dont like the gameplay the want the guns to be like call of duty (no recoil, nothing to manage) this is the 18th century i think, things were not advanced and its a 3rd person game what else could they have done
Game play, not lore and setting.
you think they those kinda guns in the 18th century?
They coulve been made because the tech was there Thats what the Devvs themself said
They coulve been made because the tech was there Thats what the Devvs themself said they just werent made
On rails and moves kind of funny. The forward and backward crouch running is the same animation
Do you evev know what on rails mean? 2015 will start with a bang cant wait.
SO the fact that you couldn't do anything else besides sit in the middle of that courtyard while the female character blocks an accessible doorway and doesn't move until you have helped up your fallen teammate DOESNT MEAN ITS ON RAILS? The game is completely linear. Do you know what that means? Go sit in a corner and show the world what a cry baby looks like when he doesn't like someone's opinion. I never said it was a bad game, I said the animation just looks awkward. It's Gears of War with exceptional graphics
And Gears of War is bad? Ok.
you dont understand on rails do you?
"This paper is amazing, I must looks at it again."
Can't wait for this sp experience, think people forget Whitechapel then didn't have open parks, open spaces it was very thin cobbled streets mostly, not everything has to be open world, large spaces, this to me is fine. Small spaces with no where to hide sounds great to me, if it plays anything like tlou which I believe it will, it will be epic
^ it has nothing to do with the game.it's just not on the Xbox. The Xbox community wil do everything to take the steam out of Sony's sails. Remember, they have had the no games campaign for a while now. When Sony starts to release first party games it will be "Sony's games suck! Day one purchase for me, and remember, haters are gonna hate!
Graphically amazing. Gameplay is Gears of War reskinned.
Gameplay-wise it looks incredibly generic and mediocre.
Atmosphere and story-wise it looks incredibly unique and gripping. Gameplay can be fixed within the next 6 months, this looks like it's still the pre-E3 build.
I have to resist /:
If somebody think that game is generic, what is GeOW, Uncharted then? Anyway, game looks, even 6 months before release, MONSTROUSLY GOOD! Really the best graphics on Gamescom!
People say that the gameplay is terrible because it plays like Gears of War yet they are excited for next Gears of War game. Can't we just agree on the fact that a game that plays like Gears of War can be good? Anyways I had a great time with Gears of War and Uncharted which are TPS with a cover system which is why this game playing like them doesn't bother me.
To me this game looks fantastic. I don't have a problem with it playing like Gears of War at all, as I loved the gameplay in those games. Seems people forget that this is the same studio that made the PSP God of War games, and in my opinion those God of War games were better than the numerical releases and Ascension(except for GOW3 because that game kicked ass). I know they haven't made a console game before, but if they can make PSP games with silky smooth gameplay then I trust them fully to be able to do the same with a dualshock 4 controller. Ready at Dawn has earned our trust if you ask me.
I see in a lot of comments that the gameplay is generic to them. What happens if the game is not about the gameplay and focuses on the story.
So if I'm correct, you're putting the idea that this game may not be focused on gameplay? If so, then I put up the question of 'what differentiates a game from a movie/show'?
There will still be gameplay and hopefully a lot but maybe it's being more like TLOU and focusing a lot on good story
Now that's a much better comment. Personally I wouldn't go as far to say they aren't focusing ongameplay because that creates a bad image for them. It seems like they have more of a focus on visuals.
Makes great use of the PlayStation 4's tech. Definitely a capable machine. The visuals are nothing short of phenomenal. I'm still not really sold on it though. Shooters aren't my thing unless they're exceptional, but I don't see how people aren't finding it interesting. Even though I'm not too keen on these types of games, it looks more interesting than typical shooters that score well with reviewers and gamers alike. There are some complaints of linearity, but I believe these are unjust complaints. Ready At Dawn specifically mentioned an appeal to a cinematic experience, hence no multiplayer, a hard emphasis on visuals (including a cinematic filter that's hard to ignore), the cinematic panorama view, and cutscenes that are part of the in-game experience. In a game as direct and cinematic as this, I don't see how linearity is a bad thing. It's intentionally made this way. Of course, the concept of the game could be based on the technology; remember the first Silent Hill? Couldn't generate the open town all at once. Konami made it foggy to load the town as Harry Mason walked through it. The linear, cinematic experience could simply be just that. Either way, the game is made around the tech, so it isn't a bad thing. Obviously, Ready At Dawn could have made it less cinematic and opened up the world if that was the concept. They have a vision for the game and I'm pretty sure this is all intentional.
I'm curious - what shooter do YOU classify as "exceptional"? I'm watching this and I WANT to use that electric gun!...looks fun to me.
I think there's a bit of miscommunication here. Not to say I'm putting my opinion of exceptional over anyone else's--I'm not. What I am saying is that The Order: 1886 really seems to be a very "safe" title. It keeps to a traditional formula, which is why I don't see the hate. Disliking the gameplay confounds me because this type of game has done very well before, mechanics and all. If it gets hated for being a "been there-done that" title, that wouldn't be fair since these games have run the gamut for YEARS and is only a problem NOW. To answer your question though, a third person shooter/game that I really enjoyed? I'd give it to Dead Space. Really enjoyed the first 2 titles. While 3 was good, I didn't like it as much as the first two. Opinions, though.
