PlanetSide 2 Heading to PS4 By Year's End

Fans of the franchise won’t have to wait much longer though. PS4 owners will have their hands gripping their controller by the year’s end. Playing the game on your PS4 will be equivalent to playing on Ultra High settings on the PC. (PC, Planetside 2, PS4)

In a way I'm looking forward to this more than destiny. From what I've seen so far this has the potential of being great for PS4 owners.

Its not doing great on PC. So i'd advise you tone your excitement down. And its for obvious reasons the game is not THAT good.

I've played both games and Destiny is far better. I'm looking forward to Destiny.

Different strokes.

Lmao that's a dumb observation majority of cross plat games "dont do so great" on PC or isn't a good game on PC hence why PC owners despise PC ports... That comment was uncalled for. Because 1 million people dont like it doesn't mean the other 9 will feel the same... Or vice versa... Those that enjoy what they like n not follow will be the ones who enjoy this game just like I enjoyed knack or thief or plenty of other games this Gen / last Gen that was said to "not do so good/play soo good or is soo good... Also I have PS2 on my PC and I have tons of fun with it. Really hope it has trophy support on ps4.

As for destiny it was boring to me... Action was dull.. N simplistic... I love games of strategy and PS2 is def. That.

"Not doing great on PC", most people find it too hard to get into and don't bother with it, and it is hard but if you play with an outfit, it can be incredibly fun. It also requires powerful specs and so many people aren't able to play it.

Destiny is an incredibly accessible game compared to this so obviously it's going to do a lot better. I'm also not looking forward to it at all from what I've played of the Alpha and Beta. Just did not have fun at all.

I don't know about your first statement but in my case of a it's safe to say that this game was one of the reasons I bought my ps4 early and was pissed over the fact that it was delayed.

However, if they can really accomplish the equivalent to PC ultra setting then I might have to forget, forgive and give it up to them for delivering this game in top shape.

Same...I bought my ps4 to play this game but it never came...and with all the games coming out I don't see myself having time to play...it looks good if u ask me...just don't see time to play it...with cod and destiny on the horizon

I'm definitely looking forward to Planetside 2 more than Destiny. I'm still undecided about picking up a PS4 for Destiny, but I'd go buy one right now if SOE announced a Planetside 2 open beta starting soon.

I don't know how big the game will be on PS4 though. It's very different from the shooters console players seem to like.

I for one bought ps4 not only for exclusives. Bought it for multiplatforms , better hardware , controller , OS..etc

Playing BF4 on ps4 is a much much better experience then ps3 version.

Warframe update 14 & 15, Destiny, and Planetside 2. Safe to say I've got my shooter fix.

Yes!

And H1Z1 in 2015.

Hopefully EverQuest Next in 2016.

H1Z1 and Everquest Next haven't even been released on PC yet. My bet is 2016 and 2017 respectively considering the massive delay in releasing Planetside 2.

Thing is with this was the fact that The UI is what gave them the biggest problem so far and I can see them using what they learned from PS2 and fixate these qualities to the PS4 controller and def can see a more expedited process when it comes to H1Z1 and EQN

I'm really looking forward to this one. I originally tried it on the PC but I just can't get into playing games with a Keyboard and a mouse. For me it just feels awkward, and Xpadder ain't good for shooters. Now with PS4 I can actually play the game with a controller and enjoy it.

Please, no delays. I'd honestly take it in a crappy state since it's F2P anyway, unlike BF4 which I paid a full $60 for. They could just patch it later, but porting it seems to be going smoothly so I probably won't have to wait for a patch to play it at a good state.

I really need my shooter fix.

Free and looking like a high end PC...
*giggle*
Very happy.

I'm not convinced it will be out this year. Sony have said there will be a beta before release and Sony didn't announce a date for either at the SOE Planetside 2 keynote today. The game was one of the reasons I bought a PS4 and the massive delay is very disappointing. It was originally announced to be released in the PS4 'launch window' but obviously that was totally unrealistic.

F2P will kill a lot of AAAs which is great,I want them to die already
BiggerBoss  +   128d ago
Well that's a really childish attitude to have. Why would you want that?
theshredded  +   128d ago
innovation ofcourse.I'm talking about the milked multiplayer AAA games;people should either get new games or not buy the same cr@p and instead go with f2p.

Ahh okay, I misunderstood what you were saying. I agree that the milking of certain AAA franchises needs to stop
MysticStrummer  +   128d ago
AAAs will kill themselves before F2P will kill them. Bloated budgets require more sales to break even, and we are just about to the point where average sales won't be good enough for many titles. If recent statistics are accurate, F2P won't kill AAAs because very few people actually buy anything for their free games.

I have my doubts, no new source in this story, a beta release date hasn't even been announced
Brettman2008  +   128d ago
Would have been the perfect time today at the SOE Planetside 2 keynote to announce a beta date. I suspect there will be a beta late this year with a release first quarter next year. Sony are lucky their competitors have had difficulties, otherwise all these game delays would have been costly.
