Sony's conference went down at Gamescom 2014 in Germany and had a lot to show. But which parts of their showcase caught the attention of Dom, our resident video guy?
This pretty much demonstrates why Sony's press conference was the better of the two in diversity, risk taking and exclusives. 2015 is going to be out of this world.
Yeah, at first I thought "where are guerilla, santa monica, media molecule's new game, sony bend, quantic dream, naughty dog" etc. etc.....but afterwards when looking at videos of all they revealed and the quality of what they showed...I was very happy with the presentation and there were so many games shown I will buy day one. I think I went into the conference with the expectation of seeing some of those phenomenal first party dev's Sony has and the games we know they're working on but haven't yet shown, so my initial reaction was disappointment. But what they did show was stellar, and we know those other games are coming, so considering all that it's hard not to be excited for late 2014/2015..and beyond.
That's exactly the point Sony were trying to get across. There was diversity, creativity and uniqueness, and all that WITHOUT a lot of Sony's own secret exclusives. A lot of what they showed should appeal to a Nintendo audience too.
