Warner Bros to buy Xbox Entertainment Studios

According to the Hollywood Reporter Xbox Entertainment Studios might be closing down but it is not necessarily the end of the studios.

Xbox Entertainment Studios is the movie/tv division. They made Halo Nightfall and are (were) making Halo TV Series. I guess it makes sense if Warner Bros bought Xbox Entertainment Studios. Microsoft were going to disband them anyway.

This cold be great for both MS and WB. Hollywood have being trying yo get into the video game industry, this is their chance.

This wouldn't be a bad idea. I really wish the XES team all the best.they had some really interesting ideas cooking. hope they all turn out good.

would they get all the TV rights to the ips with that deal? and what would that mean for future x1 games? i cant imagine that deal and especially not where this would lead. but i hope for a few good movies and shows.

No they would have 0 IP game rights to make movies or shows out of. They will most likely just have the right to TV shows they closed deals with like that soccer show on Live. Ms is now independently working on Halo: Nightfall (Ridley Scott) and Halo TV Show (Spielberg). It was Xbox Ent's fault for not closing deals fast enough and making progress
