Reenactment: Next Generation Interviews Sega's Tom Kalinske

Defunct Games presents Interview Reenactment, where they recreate some of the greatest print interviews of all time. This week's episode reenacts Next Generation magazine's interview with Sega's chief, Tom Kalinske. Tom is best known for his aggressive marketing tactics, which included calling out the competition and creating the iconic Sega scream. In this interview he suggests the 32X will outsell the PlayStation and that Nintendo isn't a threat. (Culture, Industry, Retro, Sega)

Wow! This guy was responsible for overseeing some of Sega's most notorious advertising. He's kind of a legend.

One thing I always respected him for was how he was known for going into schools to ask kids what they wanted to see in video games. What pissed me off the most was how he sabotaged Saturn with it's surprise launch, after ditching support for Sega CD and then later with the 32X.
