In Defense of the Vita Part One: Japanese Support

I am inclined to agree that Sony hasn't given the system proper support, but third party support for the system is strong, though maybe not from the studios one would expect. I am of course talking about the high degree of support from Japan. (PS Vita)

I've said it before and I will say it again.

The PS Vita is one of the finest pieces of gaming tech I have ever owned in my entire life.

I also see heavy Japanese dev support as a big plus.

It best supports is Japanese Games no one arguing that.

Localization of them is what Vita owners fighting for and new ones.

I love me some Japanese games, I just hope a big japanese publisher puts a game on Vita that attracts more people. We can't rely on P4G now that it will be 2 years old in a few months.

It took me 20 seconds of staring at the picture to notice, but what's with the 'PlayStation' logo on the Vita lol since when.

That's an old image of a Vita prototype which was named NGP.

It's getting great JRPG support and that's what's keeping my Vita going!

People forget it's selling very well in japan, they love their portables.

It's getting Japanese support, but for most gamers here in the West this thing doesn't suit them. There's too many issues with the system that Sony refuses to resolve and they decided to cut a lot of support for it instead.

Now it's being fed with mostly cheap mobile quality indie titles and PS2 collections that look and play bad, while its competitor handheld's weak hardware is being utilized very well by both first and third party developers. The Vita is doing MUCH worse than the PSP ever did.

The fact that people need to write "In Defense.." articles at all is indicative of the Vita's performance and commercial appeal. As a Vita owner, I'm constantly looking at the system with regret over what might have been but wasn't.

It isn't getting the attention it deserves from Sony, much less third parties, which tells me that its life isn't going to be that prosperous.
